Mockingjay question

Collins wanted everyone to like Peeta and Katniss together so she made Gale look bad in third book.

I thought he was a brilliant character; strong, brave and working for the greater good. A lot like Katniss actually, which is why I think they would've been good together.

I absolutely love Gale. He is way better than Peeta. You should have seen me two chapters away from finishing "Mockingjay". I was starting to get frantic, but I still belived no matter what, that if the universe was all right, Gale would end up with Katniss. But then he didn't.
I like Gale better, because overall he's a nice guy. Someone Katniss can depend on. And sure Peeta is nice too...I guess. However think about this.
Forty years later the Capitol somehow manages to come back to power, and forces Katniss to re-enter the Hunger Games once again. Oh, if only Katniss had stayed with Gale, she could have maintained her good health. But no, she chose Peeta, and so by always makeing her a bunch of bread and cake she got out of shape and didn't practice her archery skills anymore. And even if they managed to stay alive somehow, Peeta would have just gotten them killed with some foreign plant. But it's not his fault, I mean there only in the Hunger Games, its not like the people there try to poison you, right?

P.s. Despite every thing I just said. I don't hate Peeta. I just wish he didn't end up with Katniss.

ya amanda i share you're opinion. its all right for people to like peeta better but some people take it 2 far. I love gale and think he's a great guy, not selfish AT ALL (people say that u know) , and better 4 katniss.

Peeta's amazing and he won Katniss's heart fair and square. So Gale doesn't matter

Omg Gale is by far my favourite character. I swear the only reason why people hate Gale is cuz they like peeta x katniss together so they bash Gale to make peeta look better. Omg Gale is not an evil terrorist traitor monster person! He’s a brave, loyal, selfless, intelligent and kind person. AND SO MISUNDETSTOOD. Everyone says “can’t believe he hates peeta just cuz he loves katniss” but hunny if Gale hates peeta why did he rescue peeta from the capital. He accepted that katniss loved peeta. He was HURT that’s all. So yeah I’m Team Gale forever <3 xx

He'd be at least, mildly amazing if the moron author hadn't taken the trendy/insipid route of giving him an effeminate, hasn't-been-heard-of-since-1952 girlish name to attract the metrosexual audience..

I thought Peeta was a wimpy, weak, spoiled brat throughout the entire series. I'm very sorry to all the Team Peeta people out there... but i really figured that Katniss should end up with Gale in the end. Come on! He protected her family when she went into the Games, not once, but TWICE, he brought them illegal food so they wouldn't starve, got punished for it (when he was whipped in CF) and he was her best friend since childhood.
Now lets see, what did Peeta do? He was a baker. Okay, good income of money, but you cannot exactly defend yourself in the Hunger Games with CAKE (unless you are Tobias Eaton...), he stalked Katniss for their entire childhood, and he wasn't even good for anything in the Games! Sure he killed Foxface, but that was by ACCIDENT! Katniss not only had to watch her own back, but his too! He managed to almost die and it was Katniss who had to do everything. Im sorry. He just wasn't a strong character like Gale.
Not to mention, i feel so sad for Gale. Everyone thinks he killed Prim. IT WAS A WAR... A REVOLUTION! PEOPLE ARE GOING TO DIE! HE DIDN'T DO IT FOR REVENGE OR ANYTHING IF IT CAN EVEN BE PROVED HE DID IT AT ALL! (i don't mean that in the way that Oh Who Cares That Prim Died... she wasn't my favourite, but i know how much she meant to Katniss). Why would he intentionally kill Prim, when he worked his ass off the try and keep her alive?! To get back at Katniss for not loving him back? Well i guess when you have to pretend you love someone for that long, you might start to believe it which seems to be what happened to Katniss... :/
So anyways, sorry for the rant. I think it would have been soooo much different if Gale had volunteered for THG in Peeta's place... but then Prim would have probably died anyways and people would have found a way to make turn it around on Gale. He's pretty much damned if he does, and damned if he doesn't.

Gale!!! Hands Down!

Gale and Katniss are meant to be. She only fell in love with Peeta because they got into the games together. Some might say it's fate. But, If Gale had gone into the games with her, they would've for sure become Star Crossed Lovers. Fire and fire run together. If the fire and the water come together, will the fire burn out??? Or will the water get diminished. Gale and Katniss!!!

You could say that Peeta saved her life. But, Katniss paid him back already, she saved them both in the arena. You could also say that Gale killed Prim. NO WAY!!! Sure, the bomb was a bad idea, but Gale loved Prim like his own sister. He would have never dropped the bomb if he had known. Sure, Gale has some anger issues, but if Katniss stays with him, she can always calm him down. Peeta is her 'sunshine', he balances her out. I can't really say much about that. So, maybe Peeta and Katniss do deserve a chance. But I'm still rooting for Gale! :D

I love both of them - Peeta and Gale. Since Katniss finally got together with Peeta, can I have Gale for myself? lol

Peeta is okay too.

I don't understand why people don't like Gale because he supposedly killed Prim and left Katniss. It never said that it was his bomb that killed all those children. And if Gale knew Prim was there, he wouldn't have let the bomb drop, since it was from Coin. Gale left because he didn't want Katniss to have to deal with the pain of him being around because she would never know if he killed Prim.

For the record, I definitely DON'T hate Peeta but he did have flaws in terms of pairing w/ Katniss: not being able to be quiet in the woods, bad hunter... but he's pretty cool other than that.

Anyway, I LOVE Gale:) He is a really cool guy and is really good at hunting, plus he's loyal. He is a good guy who tried to protect Katniss, but not shelter her. He is plain awesome with the best intentions: to free everyone from the dictatorship of the Capitol.

Peeta EVERY time! DID NOT like him in Mockingjay! Don't hate don't love him. Didn't like how he just left Katniss in the last book.

yes i adore him. he is fantastic in every way and i dont understand why people say he is selfcentered! for me Peeta was just too perfect and didn't have any flaws!

I don't think Gale should die or anything, but I still don't like him. I got more respect for him in Mockingjay and when I heard Liam Hemsworth talk about him I realized that he really was a good guy, but for the time I was reading the books I really did hate him and wanted Peeta to end up with Katniss. I just thought he was so stupid. xD Someone would say Team Gale and I'd think "What? Why?" Now, I don't hate him, I just don't love him.

Well here's my view on it. Picking between Peeta and Gale I'll hands down pick Peeta every time, but I don't hate Gale at all. I think he's a really good person and I did like his character. I just like Peeta better.

I do like Gale! He's a good guy, he just wasnt meant to be with Katniss, and thats no reason to bash on the poor guy.
