Marlene (marlene1001) | 490 comments I loved Rick Riordans Humor. Alone the titles were hilarious! (I can't count the times I wished I could "not entirely accidentally vaporize my pre algebra teacher" ^^).

Which character would that be?

I really liked Eragon actually! I read Eragon and Eldest in the fourth grade. Brinsgr was the one I simply couldn't keep reading.

People keep telling me to read Eragon but I've never had the chance.

I never read books people tell me to. That's one of the main reasons I haven't and probably never will read the Harry Potter or Percy Jackson series.

Okay, you need to stop freaking me out with the clone stuff. I read them in fourth-fifth grade. And I finished Inheritance somewhere in 6th grade. Tis like my favorite series

@Boo, YOU, MY GOOD FRIEND, ARE QUITE AWESOME INDEED!

@Chey Chey, My friend is like, a huge Harry Potter friend, and she bags on me sometimes for not liking the series, but she herself hasn't even read the books. =_='

Beck (formerly Boo) (boooty) | 327 comments ^^ *changes into skirt* *curtsies* *back to pants*
I've read up to the third.

Cody Cramer (codeshi) | 62 comments I've read them all, I loved its what got me into reading. Nothing wrong with not liking the series, it was bigger around my time anyway... Well the books were.

On Topic: 50 shades series, its twlight with less vampires a dumb uninteresting girl and bondage sex and poorly written oh and it was a fan fic called 50 shades of twilight till it got published.

Maroo of the Winter Caves by Ann Turnbull

Beowulf A New Telling by Robert Nye

RULE OF THUMB

IF IT'S REQUIERED READING FOR YOUR CLASS! IT'S PROBABLY BAD.

Maroo of the Winter Caves was pretty awful.

message 113: by [deleted user] (new)

I actually liked The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle, By the Great Horn Spoon!, Where the Red Fern Grows, and The Cay, which were all required for me, but I didn't care for The Watsons go to Birmingham or The Sign of the Beaver, which were just bleck. Beowulf was okay.

Oh, and Island of the Blue Dolphins was like my life, and that was assigned. I went through a phase where I read it every day.

I liked The Cay too! Very much so actually, it was my favorite school-book in the sixth grade.

I could NEVER finish Eragon. .__.

jueun (jueunkang) | 176 comments I never bothered to read Eragon. I heard it was pretty. . . Unfinishable.

Look Into My Eyes (Ruby Redfort, #1) by Lauren Child

Read it in the summer of 5/6th grade. I love Lauren Child books, but this was IMPOSSIBLE to finish. I have no idea why.

█║ ✕ Angel ‟ (sirsly) Dean: (Turning into a Vampire) Watching Lisa sleep, because he is going to kill himself. And trust me when I say he isn't the douchebag vampire dude. He literally has an entire set of fangs. Looking like this: (view spoiler) To be honest, Dean all angry, as a vampire and entirely pissed at everything was pretty hot. Basically this happened:(view spoiler) The soulless [Literally] Sam watches his brother being turned into a vampire. The blood has to be injected into your veins. And or swallowing. Dean is turned into a vampire and is ready to die. He can't stand being something he hunts, but his grandfather has a cure. He goes to Lisa's, watching her sleep. Ready to die, not knowing his grandfather has the cure. And he walks away, whispering. "Man, I'm turning into Pattinson." Okay, back to my point.

The Twilight Vampires are so annoying, our generation should be terrified of the actual blood-sucking creepy looking vampires. Not falling in love with glitter-creepy-sleep-watching-douches.

Ice Queen Wanderer •The Cursed Prophetess• (ari-la) | 107 comments I'm sorry, I hated The Cay. It would have been good, but the shit they made us do about it made me want to throw it out the window.

Usually just the words 'required reading' are enough to reduce me to groans. What could be worse? Teachers force-feeding you literature like it's split-pea baby food. Ugh.

Haha, you could've given it to one of your enemies as a holiday present or something! They think you're being nice, but really, you're wasting days of their life by having them read it.

And if they like it, well, it just makes you feel better about being their enemy. Like, "Well sir, not only are you a jerk, but you also have terrible taste in literature."

Has anyone done Halo (Halo, #1) by Alexandra Adornetto yet? Because the characters were so awful!

Absolutely awful.
The characters were played out and stereotypical.
The plot had a chance, but was ruined.
The "coincidences" were WAAAAY too impossible.

Yes. It wasn't really great, it had its ups and downs, but it was kinda... meh.
