Julie Reece Do you think most sequels you've read are as good, better, or not as good as the first in the series? What do you think made them that way?

I think it really depends on the series. For example I liked Catching Fire (The Hunger Games, #2) by Suzanne Collins a little more than The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games, #1) by Suzanne Collins . But I absolutely despised Bloodrose (Nightshade, #3) by Andrea Cremer which is the third book in the Nightshade (Nightshade, #1) by Andrea Cremer .
I guess it's the way the author builds up the story and the characters. In Catching Fire, there was all of that awesome action and romance I loved in the first book, plus a bunch of interesting new characters (Finnick <3). In Bloodrose, it was everything I hated about the story in the first two books (the stupid main character, basically), except it was even more magnified, until I felt like throwing the book down on the floor and stomping on it (but I couldn't because it was an ebook xD)

Julie Reece LOL

I loved the first and second in The Hunger Games series but NOT the third. I can't wait for Insurgent, I hope Victoria does a good job with it. :)
