Do you think most sequels you've read are as good, better, or not as good as the first in the series? What do you think made them that way?

I think it really depends on the series. For example I liked
a little more than
. But I absolutely despised
which is the third book in the
.
I guess it's the way the author builds up the story and the characters. In Catching Fire, there was all of that awesome action and romance I loved in the first book, plus a bunch of interesting new characters (Finnick <3). In Bloodrose, it was everything I hated about the story in the first two books (the stupid main character, basically), except it was even more magnified, until I felt like throwing the book down on the floor and stomping on it (but I couldn't because it was an ebook xD)

LOL I loved the first and second in The Hunger Games series but NOT the third. I can't wait for Insurgent, I hope Victoria does a good job with it. :)
Yeah, I didn't like Mockingjay that much either. Divergent was amazing, I can't wait for Insurgent to come out!!!
