I think John Green did a terrific job. I loved the characters (as I always do in his books), I loved the story line. I really enjoyed the entire book.
I find myself often thinking of Augustus saying, "I'm on a roller-coaster that only goes up!"
I also really enjoyed the quote "Some infinities are bigger than others".
It really was beautiful. I'd recommend it to anyone.

I know I still have a few pages to go but still it touched me in so many ways that i just find myself crying once in a while.
John Green's writing is totally addicting.

I loved everything about the book. The parts that really touched me was Hazel's speech and Augustus's letter.Beautiful.

He really is a brilliant writer.

I lost my mother to cancer, too, Mitchell. I am so sorry for your loss.

It's sad stuff for sure. :(

I wrote the story of my mother's life about a year after. I talked to her friends, my dad, her parents (my grandparents)---and it released a lot of feelings and gave me a way to hang onto her a little longer. I still talk to her sometimes. You will find your own ways to recover. Take care of yourself, lean on family and friends. I will hold you in the light.

I loved Augustus and I thought it was beautifully written.
I am sorry Kathleen and Mitchell for your losses :( I can only imagine how the book helped.
I loved this book so much! Definitely wasn't what I expected, and I cried all the way through, even though I'm usually not the type to cry over books. The characters were three-dimensional and beautifully developed, and the idea of the story and plot is just genius. It was amazing and I'd recommend it to just about everyone.

John Green has a tumblr specifically for TFIOS related questions and it's very interesting and informative

I read this one a month back.
I LOVED the side story of Anna's unfinished story.
I expected something sappy, but after reading this book, I have found that John Green can take any subject and turn it into magic.

I absolutely loved this book! I was crying for like an hour after I finished it and I couldn't stop! Oh Augustus why did it have to be you?
I cried throughout the whole story. I was devestated when Augustus died

With Hazel and Augustus' as well as the other characters, John Green has a way of making them believable and likable. I like many others, did cry towards the end of the book. I think making Gus die, just put more truth to the story. Life does suck.

I was also glad to see the realism at the end - that there wasn't a cure that led to a happy ending. It made the book more honest and allowed me to believe the story. John Green doesn't shy away from writing difficult truths, in any of his books. And I love him more as an author for it.

I agree totally. It was amazing. I am glad I picked it up and read it. :):):):):):):):):):):):):):)

I read it right when it came out I think after someone recommended it to me on this group (I can't remember who, sorry). It was just AMAZING! I would read it again and again and again.

I was also glad to see the real..."
Yes! I hate it when authors take the easy way out and make the ending so happy. It's not honest. I think John Green is really brave for making it so real. He's making a very strong statement

I'm not much of of a cry-er in general, but my first read of this book had me snot-sobbing from, like, page 10.
I love love love (view spoiler) .

It was a very beautiful book, that really impacted me.
There were so many points during the book that I was bawling so fiercely , that my makeup was all over my face and in my eyes, preventing me from clearly even reading the words.
This book felt so human, and I loved it.
this book really touched the heart strings. I couldn't help but cry too. this is my all time fav
my friend said you have to read this book so I said okay and went out to buy it. I ended up buying a signed copy.

I haven't read any other John Green books but I have heard that they are equally spectacular. Does anyone have a certain one that they'd recommend of his? I'm kind of in need of a good book these days. :)

I've only read Looking for Alaska which I enjoyed, but I'd be interested to know which ones people love??
I really liked the bit in this one where (view spoiler)

This book always left me on the edge of the seat. I was surprised too because i loved that character.

Same here. I've only read TFIOS from John Green but I'm trying so hard to get his other books since they seem to be just as lovable. :')
I really adored how the cancer aspect is portrayed so realistically in TFIOS and also how the characters are like average teens trying to feel all the happiness that life has to offer. I just reread the book as soon as I finished and then I reread it again after a month. It just never gets boring even when you know the end. Infact, it gets better because it feels like you learn more and more about the characters every time you reread it.

The humor and tragedy between Hazel and Gus is perfectly coordinated. John Green was born to make this book and he was born to make readers laugh and cry with it.
