The only book I didnt read was the very last one and yeah it was like each book was the same as the last. It really dragged on.

How tastes can differ... Renata and Nikolai's story was one of my favorites in this fab series.
I don't have a worst book in PNR but I do have in horror, it was Buick 8 from Stephen King. I really had to force myself to finish cause I kept expecting it would get better. Cause most of the times King's story start slow. I was a huge fan of him but the last books I read before Buick 8 were also disappointing. I stopped reading King after that, and any other horror. It was time to move on I guess cause I discovered the PNR genre and was hooked. I always liked reading horror but I'm crazy in love with PNR. With horror It took me at least 2 weeks, sometimes a month to finish a book. With PNR I read 3 books a week.

I won't say it was the absolute worst book I've ever read because it's not... I just couldn't get into it as much as I could the others before it ...
Oh I have another not bad book but a book i didnt like and that was
The girls vera and nora annoyed me to no end. As friends i just could understand it...maybe I am out of touch, I dont know but yeah it goes on my bad read list...though I will read
:)

The two series overlap enough that I want the two worlds to collide. But they only brush so slightly, I am annoyed. The elaborate plots and conspiracies spin ever further out of believability.

I agree Sara . . . .sorry, but it was a BAD book :-( . . . the characters were weak, the plot was trying too hard and it lacked emotion . . . .poor
i'm sorry but the Dracula on my ereader

I don't know Sara, there are some really evil reviews of this book here on Goodreads . . . I got called some nasty names just for disputing a couple of points . . .but y'know everyone's entitled to their opinion ;-)

I REALLY WANTED to like this book and for the first chapter I thought "hey this girl can write" but then it was just the same thing over and over and over again.
The first time that she spent three pages describing the girl's scream I told myself that was the theme of the book and if she needed us, the readers, to understand this world's-most-epic-scream then so-be-it. The second time she spent three pages describing a scream I started thinking 'redundant much?' but then when she did it a third time I was like "really?! Really?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!"
Meanwhile an entire week in the psyche ward of a hospital flew by in a single page or two. And maybe this is over sharing but I spent three days in the psyche ward once for voluntary evaluation after a traumatic experience many years ago and could write VOLUMES on it.
I went from being interested in the book, to wanting to like the book, to being bored with the book, and eventually ended up being annoyed and even angry about this book ... which is unusual for me because I can generally find the silver lining in just about anything. Heck, I LIKED A Tale of Two Cities so it's REALLY hard to bore me as much as this book did.

Was really an ad for his westerns.
My book, Halo of the Damned, is up for July's reads. If you haven't voted, please consider it. Pitch: A fallen angel who runs an ad empire, fathers a new race, finds worship among an angel cult, and wants to secede from Hell...

Im reading 50 shades at the moment, still not sure if i like it. I thought it was meant to be a love story, but it isnt, nothing has really happened in half the book appart from the sex and her thinking if to sign the contract...pretty rubbish i think. As well, people have slagged off twilight because is against femenism but this one is a lot worse, ok she has the choice to do it or not, but in my opinion she has become addicted to sex, so not really a choice...tricky! unless it gets better im not going to bother with the other two. It lacks of imagination

Dina, 50 Shades is a love story. I think the first book is about shocking the audience, the second book is about love, and the third book is about suspense. The series as a whole is a great love story because Ana and Christian make each other better people. Ana becomes self-assured and Christian learns how to care about another person. It is still the set of books that set the standard to which I judge other romance novels. Give it a chance, and don't stop after book 1.

I read it months ago before all it became this big "cult" thing and I can't walk into the playground or turn on Facebook without someone referring to it. The first two books were ok, though I agree there are so many underlying issues that basically you have to take it at face value but the third book is just so repetitive and not thought through that I wish I hadn't bothered. I know that she wrote it as a Twilight fan fiction but now I just think there is so much hype around it that soon it could be bigger that the whole Twilight franchise!!!

I read that part of 50 Shades quickly and then never thought of it again until you brought it up. Thanks.

Last night, I started what turned out to be the worst book I have EVER read!
You know how you have that shelf of books, your 'desperation' books? The books that if you're in a pinch, have nothing else, you'll read?
Yeah. No! It made my 'Not Even Desperation' shelf, along with my 'Unable To Suspend Disbelief' shelf.
The book??
OMG! It was AWFUL!! I was so excited about it, too! It sounded like it was going to be great!
...then I hit Chapter 3.
By Chapter 5, I was done. I just... I couldn't. I... there are no words. None.

I agree. I didn't hate the book, but it wasn't nearly as helpful as it could've been.
I won't say the name of the worst book I've ever read, because I know the author does occasionally frequent Goodreads, but holy cow! This book stole from so many other books and movies, it had flat-out sloppy writing, the characters' emotions made no sense, and the plot... oh, the plot. I feel like an eight-year-old probably could've done better. >.<

Does it ever make you wonder if there was something you missed? Or does it just make you wonder if there's a lot of "being nice to someone you know" on Facebook or Goodreads going on?

Dannye I have wondered that a few times. It makes me wonder if i am being to critical but than I figure what is ones trash, can be someones treasure :)

I'll be honest with you... if I don't like the book, I don't care who you are, I'm going to tell it like it is.
If I know you personally, I won't be AS harsh as I normally would, but I'm not going to be all "it's the best book EVAR!! You have to buy this likeomgrightnow!!"
If it sucks, it just plain ole sucks.
Wow... I really do sound like a cold-hearted bitch, don't I?
:-/

I respect my friends who are honest more then those who feel they have to lie. I know i make mistakes and friends who point them out also help me learn. If my story sucks let me know, hopefully next time I will learn and do better :-)

I agree, if no one is honest about your work you will not be able to better yourself, right?
That's why I hate showing my mum my writing, becuase even if I write dribble she'll say t's amazing.

Yes you do! Lol just kidding. I'm pretty much the same way but sometimes I'll just say nothing if I wasn't crazy about the book. I think because honestly there are books out there that I absolutely cannot stand but they are getting great reviews from everybody else. So I figure it's just not my thing.
