Michael Elliott (thewritingfella) | 1 comments G'day everyone,
I've always been a lover of the horror and thriller genre and thanks to a lot of encouragemnet from indie authors I've taken the plunge and become an author myself. I currently have two short stories out, Dinner For Two (a dystopian horror) and Mr Westacott's Christmas (a dramatic thriller) My third story about a psychotic youth's obssesion with violent video games will be out soon. These three stories will be featured in the anthology I'm writing ATM. I look forward to making some great new friends here.

Kevin Fitzgerald | 1 comments Hey everybody! Good to "meet" you! Like many, I am new to the group, but a lover of the genre. Looking forward to connecting with like-minded people and engaging in some good dialogue. I've got 2 works available for you to check out:

One is a FREE short story called "Sewage." It's kind of a nostalgic "Stand by Me" meets "The Walking Dead." An homage to the stories that influenced me growing up and my home-town: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

The other is a full-length novel called "UnAlive." It's a mix of thriller/suspense/supernatural/mystery/zombie. I think you'd dig it. It's only $.99c till the end of the month. Check it out: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

Talk soon! ~ Kevin

G.W. Lwin (greglwin) | 2 comments Hi Everyone,

My name is Greg, lives in Australia and I am new to Goodreads and am excited to be part of this group.

I love anything that comprises of the old and the ancient full of rich history and spirituality. For me, reading and learning from our ancient past is truly a beautiful, unique and intriguing journey.

Since at a young age, I feel there are two versions of me living within. The old spiritual me and a young soul who still lives in his fantasy world.

However, both of these versions share one commonality - my passion for vampires from the ancient mythology and beliefs. I was mesmerised by their folklore since at a young age.

And it is this passion that leads me to write my first debut novel of the trilogy called 'THE SAMSARIC.'

I will be releasing my novel on the 14 Nov 2015 on Amazon. My website is still under development but you can find me on my facebook author profile page here;

https://www.facebook.com/GWLwin/?ref=hl

My need to express is very strong within me. Writing, for me, provides this gateway and helps me to grow as a person. It is a life-long learning path that I gladly embark on.

As a writer, I would like to get better at each and every moment, to possess the skills to craft the expressions that arise from the heart into words that provide fulfillment to the readers... a common vision shared by many authors.

Kind Regards,

Greg Lwin

It is my hope that I can learn from all of you to become the best writer I can be.

Grace McCabe (grace_mccabe) Hi all - I'm Grace, and I'm 42 and live in Estes Park, Colorado. I'm an avid reader, and I enjoy paranormal romance, dark fantasy, and I also like thrillers, and a good mystery once and a while. I've had some short stories published in traditional print magazines, but I'm trying the self-publishing route as an author to hopefully reach a wider audience.

I use a Kindle paperwhite reader (kinda old, but still works fine). As for hobbies, I'm into outdoor recreation, photography, and watching my hubby race motocross in the summer.

Anyway, I look forward to being a part of the group, and finding out what great new books people are reading.

Tara Dobbs (taradobbs) Just joined tonight.

I'm living in Washington state. I have one published novel under my belt - Soul's Little Lie - https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

Am currently working on my second one that should be published later this year.

Other than writing, I also create my own traditional illustrators for my books to get a better feel of my characters. I haven't read much paranormal fiction as I'm so busy writing my own. I'm very picky in reading fiction, sorry. If you have any recommendations, please let me know.

Matthew Allred | 1 comments I have no idea what I'm doing here, haha. This is my first time getting into Goodreads groups, but I've heard they are really good for self-published authors. I'm interested in getting to know people in the community, but I don't know where to start.

I've written a few novels, both under my name and as a ghost writer. Here are two of them, both horror. Any help in getting to know how to make connections on here would be great.

Tomorrow I Will Kill Again (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...)
Blocks of Color (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...)

I've gotten some very polarized reviews for Tomorrow I Will Kill Again. :)

Beau Johnston (beau_johnston) Good morning everyone, and thank you for accepting me into your community.

A few of you already know me from that trip we took to Camp Crystal Lake other groups on Goodreads, but for those of you who don't know me I'm a life-long horror fan, blogger, and indie author.

Growing up in the bush gave me a lot of interesting experiences, many of which appear in my stories (in one form or another). I'm currently writing a series of books about the Zombie Apocalypse, set in Australia (so guns are a bit of a rarity). If you would like to take a look, the first book is called Sleep With One Eye Open. I'm currently writing book three in the series. I based the main character's strengths and weaknesses on my own; if I can't do something in the real world, the character can't do them in the story (but he does have an interesting skill-set to help him achieve his goals).

Once a month I write a blog on topics including: disaster preparedness, self defense, home security, and general safety. If curiosity has taken hold, please come over for a look. http://beaujohnston.com.au

Graeme Rodaughan Hi All,

I have a passion for stories, especially action/suspense/thrillers involving fantasy, science fiction, supernatural, horror and paranormal themes.

I look forward to getting involved with the group as a reader.

I also write, and my first book A Subtle Agency (The Metaframe War, #1) by Graeme Rodaughan is very much a suspense/thriller of the supernatural variety.

H.E. Bulstrode (goodreadscomhebulstrode) | 11 comments 3 05 am by H.E. Bulstrode Gwydion's Dawn by H.E. Bulstrode Old Crotchet by H.E. Bulstrode
Hello fellow fans of the weird and the uncanny,

I am H.E. Bulstrode, an English author of a series of standalone mysteries involving an element of the supernatural or the occult, each shot through with a wry vein of humour. The first three have already been published, and the second – 3:05 am (H.E. Bulstrode’s West Country Tales Book 2) – will be available for free download from Kindle from Friday 12 August to Sunday 14 August inclusive. The other two books published to date – ‘Gwydion’s Dawn’ (an occult mystery) and ‘Old Crotchet’ (a 1920s ghost story) – are also available to Kindle Unlimited readers for free.

Summary of 3:05 am
Mark Hillier should be happy, what with a promotion and impending fatherhood in the offing, but instead he is increasingly troubled by what is beamed into his home, courtesy of his portable television set, on a succession of hot summer nights in 1998. The images that he witnesses, and the actions that they portray, strike at the very root of his sense of who he is. He may be left perplexed and confused, yet that irritant of a colleague of his – Mike Pearce – seems to know something that he doesn’t. Could there be a hint of the supernatural in the mix, and if so, what, if anything, does Pearce have to do with it, and what does it mean for his future?

A wry mystery novelette, just over 7,500 words in length. I would welcome reviews from readers on Amazon and Goodreads. You can find me at http://www.hebulstrode.co.uk/ http://hebulstrode.com/ as well as on Goodreads, or you can search for me on Facebook.

I have, and I really enjoy him - in particular The Great God Pan and The Great Return.

I'm also a massive fan of Algernon Blackwood - I love The Willows

I find that whole period of late 19th-to-early 20th century to be a wonderful trove of creepy weirdness. Some of the stuff in the 30's too is good - I've not long finished reading the novellas of John W Campbel and liked them.

Are you in to those sort of authors?

I'm starting a blog on my Goodreads page where I'll discuss the writing process, horror books and films, screenwriting, and lots of other things. I hope you guys will friend me and follow me. And if you have any tips on how Goodreads works, let me know. Like I said, I'm new at this.

Also, feel free to ask me anything!

Erik (erikhenryvick) | 5 comments AWESOME!

That's what I thought when I read the description of this group.

I'm an indie author of dark fantasy and horror who happens to be disabled by an autoimmune disease. I've got a short story collection coming out in the next few months, and the first novel of a series a "few" months after that. Everything is written, I'm just going through all the business that comes between finishing a book and putting it out there.

Here's a huge 'thank you!' for starting and running this group

Jerrod Smelker (jsmelker) | 5 comments Greetings everyone, my name is Jerrod S. Smelker. I grew up in Ionia Michigan, a quaint small town smack dab in the middle of Michigan between Grand Rapids and the state capitol of Lansing. Now however I live in Grand Blanc.

Fall has always been my favorite season and Halloween has always been my favorite holiday. I have enjoyed celebrating Halloween since I was a toddler. I love and appreciate the folklore behind it, the traditions, the fun, movies, creatures and costumes…and of course, the candy! I’ve always admired and respected the classic tales of Dracula, Frankenstein and the myths and legends told by friends and family…especially real life ghost stories.

When I started writing, I never envisioned myself as a horror or scary story writer…and then, I decided to write one the fall of 2017. Once I did, I got hooked and couldn’t stop writing them. So, I thought I would put them in book form and “The Michigan Monsters & Macabre – Spooky Short Story” books were born. They are (or eventually will be) a collaboration of fictional short stories about Michigan towns dealing with hauntings, creatures, ghosts, monsters, mysteries and the macabre. All stories transpire around the best season of Fall and the holiday of Halloween. I hope to get the first one published Fall of 2018. Check out the website at SpookieStoriesMI.com.

I am also a freelance writer, author and blogger and have published several magazine articles, short stories and books. I am always working on several other short stories and book projects to publish. I am the owner and writer for Our Michigan Travels, a website dedicated to the trips my wife and I take throughout Michigan…I do the writing, she takes the photographs. I am also the owner/operator for Last Leaf Publishing….dedicated to my writing works as well as other services.

I enjoy history, writing, reading, fine cigars and pipes, craft beers, coffee, chocolate, Michigan road trips, the Fall season, Halloween and good food. I currently live in Grand Blanc Michigan with my wife, kids and two cats. I can be reached at jsmelker@hotmail.com.
