Liezel wrote: "Thanks guys, wanted to make sure since it doesn't look like an easy read :)"It's probably not, but at least it's short :) I've heard that it's harsher than the movie though, which is nothing to be sneezed at...
Haven't watched the movie, but have heard that the book is quite violent. But since I am curious to see what the fuss is about, might as well read it now, plus I can use it as a task for the DR challenge
If the movie is anything to go by, the book will undoubtedly be very violent. Now that I think about it, some of it might be easier to read than to watch. I Kubrick's movie is very good, but I skip over some bits.
I have finished
for my task where I have to read a book with a cover where the face is hidden by hair.
Could I have number 333 please?
Thank You!

Oh good, the next book I want to read is the 6th part in a series and 3 part in a trilogy that I am already reading and its second book I used for my previous task and has 800 pages. So I am very happy!
Wow, Barbara that's a coincidence. I was going back and forth between going with 33 or 333. Now I know that either would have worked fine for me. ;)
If that comes to pass I might know an author for you :) That is if space also means other planets.
I finished my fourth task. #291 Space OperaOld Man's War
And it wasn't so bad after all.
I pick #363 next.
Hehe glad it wasn't too bad :)
363 - Read a book by an author whose first and last name starts with the same letter
PS: I'm going to try and add more to the list of numbers today, if anyone has any ideas please post :)

I came up with a few yesterday; luckily I jotted them down:- Read a book whose author uses two initials in place of a first name, eg. T.C. McCarthy, J.G. Ballard
- Read a book with a cover featuring a man and a woman, but that does NOT look romantic.
- Read a book with a cover featuring only 2 or 3 colours. They have to be solid colours - no shades.
eg.
Read a book that has numbers in the title.
Read a book that is not divided into chapters.
Read a book that is a spinoff of a series. So a book that is set in the universe of a series but that does not feature the main characters of the main series.
Read the favorite book of one of your direct family members (husband/wife or daughter/son if your married or parents or sibling if your not).
This is what I got on a moment's notice. I'll think on it some more and let you know if I think of something else.

If you haven't done so already, you should go to that thread with the cover game, and use those for challenges.
- Read a book where the main character has a pet- Read a book where the main character is royalty (real or fictional royalty)
- Read a book about a house (eg. a haunted house, the building of a house)
- Read a book with a novelist as the main character
- Read a book published in the same month as your birthday
- Read a book that was mentioned in a movie (and let us know which movie).
- Ask one of the group members for a recommendation based on your tastes, and read the book that's recommended.
- Read a book with a weapon in the title. It has to be something that's known as a weapon, eg. gun, knife, not something that could just potentially be used as a weapon, eg. a rock.
You can get as many challenges as you want based on publication year. Eg. published in 2012, 2011, etc.
I finished task number 333: read a book with more than 500 pages.
I have read Kushiel's Mercy which has 796 pages.
Could I have number 111 please?
I feel like I am going to regret that number but give it to me anyway :)

Thanks, Lu, that is actually not as bad as it could be.
I too have a favorite shelve too so I was familiar with it but thanks for the links :)
Niecole has The Great Gatsby on her list and since I have that book and almost read it last year for a challenge but somehow didn't I will get it off of my shelves and read it for this one.

I am done with the Great Gatsby for task 111.
Since my father is turning 67 today can I have 67 please?

Tell your father we say happy b-day!
67 - Read a novel about another book or books. Eg. The Club Dumas is about a manuscript of The Three Musketeers and a book for summoning the devil.

Thanks! Will do.
ok, this one might take some time since I probably have to order something and do some research because the Club Dumas is indeed the only one I can think of that would fit. Ah well that should give me something to do. :)

Do they have to be real books?
I just remembered the Thursday Next series by Jasper Fforde. I have read part 1 and 2 and part 3 is about a fictional book Caversham heights whereas part 4 is about characters from Hamlet so I don't think that counts but part 5 is about Pride and Prejudice.
If it has to be about a real book I will read them all and if not I will just read part 3.
These books I already have and don't have to be ordered so that saves time :)

I made up that task, and yes, fictional books are allowed. The book for summoning the devil in The Club Dumas is fictional (I think). Here are some other options if you want, Barbara:
Thanks, they look interesting, but the Jasper Fforde books I have already on my to read pile in my home so reading that one will reduce that pile and save money because I don't have to order one. So I'll try those. And put your books on my want to buy later list :)
No problem :) I really need to read that series too. I've read the first two (and will have to re-read them). It's nice fun, bookwormy stuff.
