Can't sleep yet. One new book that seemed to come out of nowhere is Dan Wells's (I Am Not A Serial Killer, Writing Excuses) Partials.
I recommend The Chronological Man series. I read the first one about a week ago because Amazon kept recommending it. Normally I am pretty wary of $0.99 books but it was fun. After hearing this interview I think that I will be keeping an eye out for Andrew's future work. I blame Sword and Laser for my ever expanding to-read list and my eventual bankruptcy from buying too many books. :)
From Wikipedia: "Cherryh (pronounced "Cherry") appended a silent "h" to her real name because her first editor, Donald A. Wollheim, felt that "Cherry" sounded too much like a romance writer. Her initials, C.J., were used to disguise the fact that she was female at a time when almost all science fiction authors were male." I'm glad we're past that era.
Also, 'Eyre Affair' rhymes--(Jane) Eyre, air, and heir all sound alike (in my midwestern accent). PS If you haven't read it, it's a great book--very metafictional alternate world, with cloned dodos, miniature mammoths, and Francis Bacon evangelists as part of the background.

I won't spoil anything but the first thing that popped into my head was a wedding of a certain color.
So....what's happening on March 20th? I got the impression, while T & V were discussing the end date for The Lies of Locke Lamora, that they needed to finish by the 19th because something was coming up....hmmm...All in all, a good show as usual. I feel bad, my mind kept wandering during the interview section. I'm not sure if that's related to my insane day at work yesterday, overnight, and now today, or if I just wasn't digging it. Not that it was bad, or that the guest seemed uninteresting...just that it wasn't grabbing me somehow. :(

At least we can hope they wont leave us hanging for 15 years....

Hmmm indeed....
Hmmm indeed....
I think they are going to expand 'what we are drinking' to 'what we are eating' GRRM style. The new podcast will be 2 hours long!

I'd say that a solid quarter of the club knows what you meant when you referred to a certain event in A Song of Ice And Fire; the books aren't some esoteric diamond-in-the-rough any more, if indeed they ever were.
Also,

That probably could have been in spoiler tags, too.
