Review of cinder:

Just finished Cinder last night, working on the review now!

I absolutely loved this book. It was a futuristic Cinderella story that by the end quick literally goes to hell in a hand basket. The plot line was action packed and entertaining. It kept you wanting more. I read the whole thing in 2 days and that's with school and homework. The characters were deep and they changed and grew as the story progressed.
There were points in the plot that were cliche and even some that were predictable. Even so it was done in such a way that even though its been done before, it hasn't been done like this and it was an interesting way to portray this classic favorite.
Cinder was an amazing heroine. She was REAL, sarcastic, quirky, and she had a little problem of being a cyborg. She is the cities best mechanic and ends up helping Prince Kai with a dead android. This is how the story starts and the shit hits the fan pretty quickly after that. She has spunk and doesn't let people walk all over her. She also holds a terrible secret that not even she knows about that could kill her and everything she holds dear. Prince Kai is the typical dashing Prince Charming, although he is portrayed as actually having a brain and is able to think for himself. He gives royalty a good name always thinking of others but never letting people walk all over him. He also falls for a mechanic of all people (wonder who that could be. :P)The villain was well thought out and the author does a great does a great job of portraying her as a backstabbing bitch who only cares about herself. She is one of those characters that you HATE right along with the protagonists. Then there are the stepmother Adri (patronizing bitch), Pearl the step sister (also total bitch) and then instead of following the classic the other step sister is nice, charming, and truly loves cinder with all her heart.
As you can see the characters are deep and complicated. They are fun and you can relate to them. You watch them grow and change and can't wait to see what they turn into. The characterization was incredible. I truly loved this book.
