I don't understand how there is even a discussion about this. The answer is obvious. Alex is mean and he had his chance. Julian doesn't judge Lena for her past and present actions, like Alex does. I know Alex came first and he was Lena's first love blah, blah, blah, but what about Coral? That was just cruel of Alex to do that to Lena. Also, Lena thought Alex was dead, so who is he to judge her when he magically reappears and finds that Lena has tried to move on with Julian. If he really loved her, he would step back and let her decide.

From Pandemonium to the end of Requiem I was rooting for Julian. Totally. I mean "I don't love you. I never loved you. It was all a lie." REALLY, ALEX? And Julian was so naïve and sweet and trusting and he was so good to Lena, even when she was confused. And then I read the short story "Alex"...and I completely forgave him for blowing up that one time. And also for the whole Coral thing because, really, what he was doing with Coral was the same as what Lena was doing with Julian. They were just trying to be happy without each other.

Julian. I have read all three books and the short story about Alex. I get why people like Alex because he did love Lena and give up everything for her. But at the same time no matter how noble his sacrifices were they still changed him and the new Alex is not the one Lena fell in love with. I think in the long run Lena would be better off with Julian. Just my opinion though...

I get what you're saying but Alex was born in the wilds. He lived in the wilds. And well Julian is just getting the hang of it. He was literally born in the middle of it. Seriously, his dad was one of the people who thought Love as we know it was dangerous. I agree Julian doesn't know what he's doing, but he killed someone for her, and for him... that was a big deal. I agree with every single word. Thats exactly how I feel. First love doesn't always mean best. Julian all the way. He's knew to Love. I mean he can't just wake up one day taking a bullet like alex did for lena. Alex was born into the wilds. Julian seems nice and gentleman like. I can't believe we're getting hyped up over fictional characters. But fudge it.

i love julian but also at the end when alex was there i couldn't help but feel sorry for him and think it was a bit unfair since he sacrificed himself for lena. but Julian and lena have a really sweet relationship and i do love him but i have to say alex he was first and also i think deep down that's who i am rooting for to be with lena. but if it was who's your favorite character alex or julian i am stuck i love them both i just hope they both have a fair ending.
