Series Read: Symphony of Ages, #2: Prophecy: Child of Earth (Start: March 29, 2012)

P.S. I'll be eating PB & J for months. But it was worth it, I think. ☺

I think if you register the kindle at ARe (they have directions on how to do it - you need the email address that Amazon has assigned to the kindle) then you should get a little envelop icon next to the titles in your library and clicking on that will send them directly to the kindle. That's how I usually do it.
I also think you can get the books from the Personal Documents section in the Manage Your Kindle area of Amazon. I know it threw me at first that they weren't in with the purchases from Amazon.
Enjoy your new purchase! :)

I use Calibre for all my ebooks and end up uploading once or twice a month to swap out the read books with the to-be-read ones... I have over 1500 ebooks, so for me to have them all in one place cuts out majorly on the confusion and makes it so much easier for me to be able to use search criteria to choose books for upcoming challenges.
I used to read on my computer too before I got an eReader, and couldn't agree more, so convenient!

I was thinking of posting some DQs, but only if anyone else is going to read along???

Lisa Kay’s Questions for Meridion – Chapter 2
1. Did you like the Intermezzo? Too much rehash or just enough?
2. For the most part this series centers on the romance between Rhapsody and Ashe. However, we know now that Grunthor is of the earth and, given the title of this book, what pivotal element do you think the book will reveal about him?
3. Why did Achmed give Rhapsody a copy of Rampage of the Wyrm to read the night before she left? Any significance to that specific story?
4. Was Loritorium ever started? Or finished? If it was, any predictions as to who will find it?
5. Why would Jo think Rhapsody wouldn’t take Daystar Clarion with her on her trip? Just a teenager’s whim, or was there another reason Jo wanted it?
6. Yikes! Holding a blade at her throat?! What did you make of that middle of the night campsite incident of Ashe’s? Did you think it was a dream/nightmare at first? What brought it on?
7. Who is Shrike’s master?
8. Comments on Sir Francis Pratt, emissary from Canderre? Is he trustworthy?

Vi's Answers to Lisa Kay's Questions
1. Did you like the Intermezzo? Too much rehash or just enough?
A little too much rehash but since we've had 2 months between books, it helped a bit too. Unfortunately, I remembered the stuff they rehashed. It's the other stuff - especially the ending of the first book that I forgot for a bit. Utlimately, it was a little bit intimidating.
2. For the most part this series centers on the romance between Rhapsody and Ashe. However, we know now that Grunthor is of the earth and, given the title of this book, what pivotal element do you think the book will reveal about him?
I noticed that the prophecies increased in this book - the one about the sleeping child. Since this is the middle book, I'm thinking it will concentrate on the romance and Grunthor discovering more about his ability AND raise more questions.
3. Why did Achmed give Rhapsody a copy of Rampage of the Wyrm to read the night before she left? Any significance to that specific story?
Achmed probably did that because he wanted to scare Rhapsody off the trip to see the dragon.
4. Was Loritorium ever started? Or finished? If it was, any predictions as to who will find it?
I think the Loritorium is a completely finished building. Probably Grunthor (and Achmed) because of the title
5. Why would Jo think Rhapsody wouldn’t take Daystar Clarion with her on her trip? Just a teenager’s whim, or was there another reason Jo wanted it?
Maybe because of Jo's infatuation of Ashe (and her subsequent thoughts), I'm feeling increasingly apprehensive about her. I can't discount Jo's thought of Daystar just as a teenage whim. Or I could be completely wrong and she just wants to be like Rhapsody. She associates the sword with her and if she has the sword, then maybe she thinks everyone would take her more seriously.
6. Yikes! Holding a blade at her throat?! What did you make of that middle of the night campsite incident of Ashe’s? Did you think it was a dream/nightmare at first? What brought it on?
Seriously, Ashe is irritating the hell out of me. Feeling like martyr and behaving like it. I was totally bewildered. And seriously, Rhapsody just forgives Ashe and goes off with him after that? Really?? Is she all right in the head?
7. Who is Shrike’s master?
I'm not sure actually (In hindsight, from a few chapters later, I can guess what but not who exactly)
8. Comments on Sir Francis Pratt, emissary from Canderre? Is he trustworthy?
He comes across as trustworthy. I sincerely hope he is. I'm interested in how this will tie off with the overall story, however.

#1 – The rehash was just about just right for me. I wish I had read it about 7/8 of the way through the first book, as I has some questions, LOL!
#2 – I didn’t spend much time analyzing the prophecies as I did last time. I’d better check them out.
#3 – True. But still, was he trying to warn her about failed relationships too? **shrugs**
#4 – I’m betting you’re right!
# 5 – Hmmm. Really? I am a smidge. You could be right about the sword.
#6 – LOL! Yeah, it was a bit much. I don’t think I would just be able to forgive and forget like that. Even if it is something external causing the craziness, it still could happen again.
#7 – I was thinking demons.
#8 – I think he is trustworthy too.
I haven’t’ gotten very far into the next section. I think I have too many chucksters going at the same time. I’ll try and pick it back up again today. This one may take me a while to finish. I hope that is okay.

I was planning on it, but I'm behind on so many challenges. Between my ex's death, company visiting, and getting sick for a couple days, I've fallen behind. Real Life and Death has a habit of doing that. I saw you were going to... and I'm so tempted.

P.S: The third book is not available as an ebook. WTF?! The first two were available at Kobo but the third is not. Why????

Anyway, I just finished off the book. Loved it, LK! Though Haydon frustrated me until nearly the end. I'd love to discuss once you resume your reading :)

Yes, that hasn't helped, Vi! LOL! But I have read a couple of PBs. Fantasy is really not my first-love genre and this one is epic. Waiting for these two to realize who each other is...is really driving me a little nuts. LOL!
