ABANDONED. A machine gun on a chain in a gatehouse.

Ok I am reading Persuader by Lee Child and in the book there is a house that has gate with a gatehouse, in the gate house is a big Soviet tank machine gun (NSV) hanging on a chain suspended from the roof. I could swear, I either have read this same description somewhere else. I haven't read this book before but this scene is very vivid in my mind. Does this ring any bells? Maybe in movie.
