Because of Winn-Dixie
question
Compare and Contrast

Dear Ms. Rincon,
I just finished reading the book called Because of Winn-Dixie. Opal, the main character, is losing her father and has trouble making friends. Beacause of Winn-Dixie, is very similar to The Kite runner because the main characters are motherless. The two books are also different, they have really different conflicts.
The main character in Because of Winn-Dixie, Opal, and the main character in The Kite Runner, Amir, both lost their mother at a very early age. Opal lost her mom because she did not like being wife of a preacher. Amir lost his mom because she died while giving birth. These books are similar because now the characters have to live a life with only one parent. This may affect the book because usually the mother is the person that takes care of a baby and shows him/her from right and wring.
Even tho both characters do not have mothers, they have two very different problems going on. Opal just moved to a very new home and has trouble connecting to her father and making new friends. Amir is about to lose his father, Baba, because he has lung cancer. If Opal does not solve her problem she would not have anyone to tell what is going on in her life and she will have a hard time on life. If Amir does not do anything to help his dad, his dad will die and Amir
would be lonely and would not be the same.
There is probably more than a thousand books out in the world and they are all different but have a couple of similarities. Amir and Opal are similar because they have no mothers, and they are different because they have really different problems.
