Sapir | 17 comments How couldn't you like this book??!?! I know, the beginning is a little slow, but as you keep reading it gets way better. The end was actually stunning. I am planning on reading all the sequels..

message 52: by Rae (new)

Rae Quigley (raequigley) OH GOD. I'm really big on NEEDING to finish a book once I've started. But I could not finish Modelland (Modelland, #1) by Tyra Banks . It was just SO SO SO bad. Also, I'm TRYING to get through Thirst No. 1 The Last Vampire, Black Blood and Red Dice (Thirst, #1) by Christopher Pike , but it's a slow process.

i hate not being able to finish books aswell but i couldn't finish The Ruby in the Smoke (Sally Lockhart, #1) by Philip Pullman
it was just so boring

message 56: by [deleted user] (new)

This is All The Pillow Book of Cordelia Kenn by Aidan Chambers

I tried twice with this book, but just couldn't get past the first 50 or so pages.

Also, it's not YA, but I have tried to get past the first two chapters of Labyrinth (Languedoc Trilogy, #1) by Kate Mosse for years but just can't seem to do it. I guess there are books with connect with on a subconcious level, and books our brains automatically reject!!!

message 57: by Brittney (new)

Brittney (brittneyrymer) | 8 comments Thirst No. 1 The Last Vampire, Black Blood and Red Dice (Thirst, #1) by Christopher Pike i tried. i really did. i made it through the first part, but that was as far as i could go. it got too boring

That's a good way to put it. I will really need to keep trying with them I suppose.

I didn't even finish the first chapter. I was going to force myself, but then my friend told me not to both LOL.

I also couldn't finish Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë . I got about halfway through Wuthering Heights and I just couldn't do it anymore.

message 60: by Rae (new)

Rae Quigley (raequigley) Ugh, I just thought of another one. L.A. Candy (L.A. Candy, #1) by Lauren Conrad

message 61: by Stacia (new)

Stacia (staciathebookworm) Thirst No. 1 The Last Vampire, Black Blood and Red Dice (Thirst, #1) by Christopher Pike

And I have the second sitting on my shelf. I just couldn't do it. :c

message 62: by Lucille (new)

Lucille West (---A) | 1 comments I could never finish The Hunger Games.

The Hunger Games - Poorly written, cliche storyline, poorly expressed characters (Katniss appears to either have mood swings 24/7, or Suzanne Collins could never choose one emotion for her to have). I had to put it down on chapter 14. I didn't want to torture myself anymore.

message 63: by Rae (new)

Rae Quigley (raequigley) Oh wow, I haven't met anyone so far that didn't like Hunger Games.

message 64: by Donna (new)

Donna (ohnoitsdonna) | 17 comments Oh, wow, I loved The Hunger games! Oh well, everyone has their own opinion on books.

I couldn't finish Dead, Actually by Kaz Delany. Was just horribly annoying.

Michelle Knox (yabookstar) | 11 comments Rae wrote: "Oh wow, I haven't met anyone so far that didn't like Hunger Games."

Really. I agree it was a little slow to take off in the beginning. But once it picked up after the games startted I couldn't make myself put it down.

I was so disappointed in this book. =/

message 70: by Kasey (new)

Kasey I force myself to finish books even if i hate them just to add them to my list.

Except for, Fifty Shades of Grey (Fifty Shades, #1) by E.L. James
gave up on that one for sure. lol.

Ive been trying to finish, The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne forever lol

and Dark Eden by Patrick Carman
worst books ever.

message 71: by Rae (new)

Rae Quigley (raequigley) I LOVED 50 Shades lol. And yeah, I didn't like THG for the first few chapters but then I couldn't stop. I read all three in one weekend.

message 72: by Nickle Love (new)

Nickle Love (nicklelove) A few years back I started reading The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien , i got bored and closed the book. Tried reading it for the second and third time but still can't get past the first 5 chapters. I finally gave up.

Last year I wanted to read A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire, #1) by George R.R. Martin . I reached till the 5th POV, then got tired of it. I started reading again a few months back and even shifted to audiobooks so I could listen to it while I clean around the house and do other chores. Still haven't finished it. LOL.

message 76: by Mel (new)

Mel Wrecked by Anna Davies The Wolf Gift by Anne Rice For the Love of a Vampire (Blood Like Poison, #1) by M. Leighton Demon Kissed (Demon Kissed, #1) by H.M. Ward Throat by R.A. Nelson Low Red Moon by Ivy Devlin I hate giving up on books more than anything but I swear I couldn't spare another second of my time on any one of these books.

Oh, I know how you guys felt.
Honestly, I looked at the book and I did not want to read it. For a second, I did, then, made up my mind and said, "Naw, never gonna read this."
Then, my friend at school read this and all other girls were squealing and I had no clue as to why. Ashley, the friend I'm talking about let me borrow the book. Honestly, the reason why I said, sure was well, she's nice! I can't say no to a nice person!! I just can't!! So yeah, read the first page---got bored.
A day past. A week. Then, 3 months past and I still hadn't read this.
When I was cleaning my room, that was when I found it, and I was, "OH SNAP!! I HAVE TO RETURN THIS!!" Then, I thought, "Aw, man, she'll ask if I liked that book!! Snap, oh, snap" So...I propped down and started reading at the exact same spot.
Next thing I knew it, 5 hours past and I am half-way through the book.
And now, I am just waiting to get Finale the fourth book. This book actually kind of had me and Ashley bonded more so another reason why I like this book even more XD
You don't have to read it, but I'm just saying I was thinking like that too :)
And I know..."patch" wasn't (at first) very natural...but read on, maybe you'll see why that's his nickname ;)

message 80: by Rae (new)

Rae Quigley (raequigley) I love Patch so much it hurts me haha

message 81: by Sapir (new)

Sapir | 17 comments Hush hush was really unrealistic, and at the beginning I was like "what the hell is going on with this book?" but as I continued it got MUCH better.

message 82: by Rae (new)

Rae Quigley (raequigley) That's why I read paranormal books so often though, I like how unrealistic it is. I just finished Silence tonight and I enjoyed it. When it comes down to it, Patch is my type (minus the whole fallen angel bit) and it's when he's acting "normal" that I get really hot and bothered lol. LIke in the first book when he just grabs her chair closer to him, excuse me while I die a bit lol.

message 83: by Sasha (new)

Sasha (sashamw) | 1 comments Beautiful creatures was one of a handful of books that I just couldn't finish. And usually I finish books once I start them though I just couldn't with this one.
I definitely loved the host way more than the twilight series. Some authors write lots about the same topic but the host was totally unexpected but absolutely awesome! The start was a little slow but when she reached the caves I just couldn't stop reading.

message 84: by Charlotte (new)

Charlotte (charlottep) The Series of Unfortunate Events books. I started them in the fourth grade and got up to the fourth book and quit. Those books are WAY too sad, I need a book that has at least a little bit of hope or happiness in it.

message 85: by Beatrice (new)

Beatrice (beatricemasalunga) The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis I got bored.

message 96: by Lorraine (new)

Lorraine Beaumont (lorraine_beaumont) Matched.

message 97: by Rae (new)

Rae Quigley (raequigley) I loved Matched

message 98: by Shuling (new)

Shuling 1)Throat by R.A.Nelson.
-don't know what he's trying to tell in the story. maybe i'm still too young to understand the whole thing.
2)Thirst by Christopher Pike.
-just one word: boring.
3) Awake at Dawn by C.C Hunter.
-the 1st book is still okay. but in this 2nd book, the main thing is still bout the girl choosing between 2 guys. guess i get kinda sick seeing all YA books nowadays focusing on love triangle.

message 99: by Rae (new)

Rae Quigley (raequigley) Amen Shuling! So over love triangles.

message 100: by Kasey (new)
