HeavyReader | 450 comments I read this book maybe five years ago, and it was not a new book when I read it. I think it could have been written anywhere from the late 80s to the early 2000s.

The book was intended for adults.

The book was set up in a question and answer format. A Rabbi answered questions about Judaism. It was NOT one of the books with questions from the Internet that I just saw when I did a Google search

stormhawk | 183 comments Conversations with Rabbi Small by Harry Kemmelman is the first book that came to mind. He also wrote a series of books about Rabbi Small solving mysteries, each titled The (day of the week) the Rabbi (did something ... Got Wet, Saw Red, Stayed Home, Resigned, etc.)

HeavyReader | 450 comments Thanks for the suggestion, but I am looking for a nonfiction book. The author is the rabbi who is answering the questions. There are no mysteries involved. All of the questions in the book have answers.

HeavyReader | 450 comments Lobstergirl, you are the BEST! Thanks.

The answer is the last on the list, What is a Jew? I remembered the cover when I saw it.
