I can point to a few different examples, but don't want to spoil anything. I'll just say it is one of the grittiest series I've ever read and feels both like it is and isn't a YA story. It's about a boy in his teens who very much acts like a boy in his teens and experiences things that make sense, but it's also written from the perspective of that boy once he's old. And i mean old, 100+ years. It's like a mingling of YA and adult that is beautiful in its oddness.
It also, despite being about monsters and what have you, felt more realistic to me than most contemporary books I've read.

The last book disappointed many, but I thought it was a pretty perfect ending.

Just finished reading 'i simply can't explain it' by niamh whelan, its only available on kindle i think but I'm not sure, It was short but such a good story! Its a mix between childhood sweethearts, love triangle, abusive relationships, but I enjoyed it way more than i thought i would. its v short but still sweet!

Fortunately, it never takes me long to read a book so I should be done before the end date ;) Prior to that I was re-reading the Lux series, I put that on pause.
