OHH i know is like he is showing his soul to her to her and that he truly loves her no matter what :D

My top two from the book are the proposals. Mr. Collins' is particularly more painful that Darcy's. Also, although not a scene, the first line of the book. I loved the way they worked that in to the '95 version.
Speaking of the '95 version, some of the one-liners make some scenes great. For instance, "No lace! No lace, Mrs. Bennett, I beg you." That ways makes me laugh. Also, Lady Catherine provides so many one-liners, like "Are the shades of Pemberly to be thus polluted?" Hilarious.

i love collins Proposal- its so painful and funny!
;)
I agree about the first line, they got that in cleverly in the 95 one!
i love Mr bennet! and that line from Lady C always makes me laugh!
and I love Lizzie's line...
'I am determined that nothing but the deepest love will induce me into matrimony'
so great

I love that scene too!♥

Me too! It's so sweet.

Love it!
"then what do you recommend, to encourage affection?"
"dancing, even if ones partner is barely tolerable"
Haha

Oh yes, I love that bit, you can just see in Darcy's face - "Oh crap, she heard me." :D It was vaguely cruel of Lizzy to say that, but then again it was vaguely cruel of Darcy to say it, so she's completely justified - and they do redeem themselves over the course of the film! :)
But I always go "Ooooo, Ouch" in my head whenever I watch that bit. :D Still, it's a little sad how Lizzy looks upset as she is walking away :(.

She's not considered one of the greatest characters in English Literature for nothing!

:D I'm not saying it wasn't fair - of course it was! It was just perhaps a tad harsh is all. :)

It was sooo much fun, I can't stopped to laugh when I read it!

the movie version_ what with both of them being wet from the rain???? steamy!!!!

:D Even if Elizabeth kind of hated Darcy in that moment, I did love it - they have wonderful chemistry! Although I would use the word dramatic... :)

yep... i love both the book and movie version...haha

<3 I like that part too!

yeeeeees!

95 Mini-series... Lizzy playing piano with Georgiana. And Darcy is just sitting on the couch with that little smile, trying not to look so smitten and/ or like he needs to take a cold shower.

And that smile... *sigh* ....

Lizzy is so to be admired in the verbal sword fight with Lady C!

However, in the movie version (2005), I love the part when Darcy comes for Elizabeth in the end. This is quite different from the book version where Elizabeth and Darcy are forced to take a walk by Mrs Bennett along with Kitty and as soon as Kitty goes to the Lucas Lodge, Elizabeth thanks Darcy and he proposes again.

Agreed, 100% hysterical!

Yes, that was one of my favourite moments too! I love Lizzy's wittiness and eloquence. Much to Lady Catherine's surprise she's very wellspoken for someone who never had a governess.

However little known the feelings or views of such a man may be on his first entering a neighbourhood, this truth is so well fixed in the minds of the surrounding families that he is considered as the rightful property of some one or other of their daughters.
I have to say that is one of the my favorite moments in the book. The line is so funny in a "what did I just read?" kind of way. It took me a second to realize that "in want of," meant "in need of." By the time I go through the next line, I was smiling. I knew I would need to keep up and pay attention or I would miss the gems.
Austen's wit is the real attraction for me in Pride and Prejudice.
p.s. my version of the famous line:
Everybody knows, a single dude with money doesn't stay a single dude with money ;)

....Makes me laugh every time I read it.

Lizzy and Caroline walking around the room and Lizzy teasing Darcy
Darcy meditating on a pair of very fine eyes
Mr. and Mrs. Bennet after Lizzy rejects Mr. Collins
When Darcy hands Lizzy his letter
When Darcy sees Lizzy and Aunt and Uncle Gardner at Pemberley and tries so hard to please them while trying to second guess Elizabeth's reaction. He's so adorable awkward, especially the way Colin Firth plays him.
Finally "I can not fix upon the time or the place. I was in the middle before I knew I had begun." Awww!
Um how come none of you have mentioned this as your favorite scene in an adaptation?

Or this one from Lost in Austen

post-modern moment! I laughed so hard.
or this? I nearly fell of the couch
