message 6201: by Emily (new)

Emily (embren) Hello! My name is Emily and I love reading! I teach Kindergarten, which allows me to instill a love of reading into kids at a young age!

I have always gravitated towards young adult books, but also recently discovered a genre called new adult (I apologize if thats wrong!) that I'm learning to love to, as it's more so college age reads!

My favorite series of all time is Harry Potter, and I mainly am pulled towards romance books, however, since starting an account on goodreads, I have found challenging myself with different books and genres has been fun! Some of the book series I have enjoyed is The After Series by Anna Todd, The Field Party Series by Abbi Glines, any of Jenny Han's books, and the Pretty Little Liars series by Sara Shepard.

I have been a member for about 5 years, but didn't realize there were groups on here until recently, so I am excited to pick a new book each month to discuss with all of you!

J.D. | 2 comments Hi, I'm Jenna.
This is my first group I'm joining so far as I'm still newer to Goodreads.
My love for reading started at a young age with R. L. stone's Goosebumps book as a kid.
YA books have continued to be my favorite for some time now and I can't wait to do some of the reading challenges in this group.

message 6203: by Kahlia (new)

Kahlia Hi, I'm Kahlia. I started reading YA way younger than I probably should have (The Princess Diaries gave me some really odd views as an eight year old), and continue to love YA despite now being in my mid-20s. My favourite YA novel is Six of Crows and as an Aussie reader, I have a soft spot for anything by Melina Marchetta or Jaclyn Moriarty.

Feel free to add me as a friend - I love seeing and discussing what other people are reading.

Sushie || "To gain your voice, you must forget about having it heard" -William Ginsberg (73687) Hi! I'm Sushie, and I LOVE YA books! I'm so happy to join this group!
Also, I have two other GR groups that I recommend to all you young writers!
https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/...
This is a group for song artists, it's super fun, complete with games and competitions, and, of course, winners!

https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/...
This is a group for beginning authors a group where we just write. We have creative writing prompts, do some collaborative writing, writing activities, fun contests, venting, and more! And if you are looking for tips or help, there's that, too!
Lots of polls, activities, fun, and beyond that!

Hi Heather! My name is Cassie and I also work at a library! It really is awesome, isn't it?! Love for cooking and YA? We could definitely be friends.

Tanya Létourneau (tannedreamer) | -1 comments Hello! My name is Tanya and I'm 29! I am from Québec in Canada and I speak French. So forgive me for my English! :P I always read in English but I have difficulty to write it! I have an account on Goodreads since 2012 but it's the first group I am in.

I am obsessed to YA books. I had a book hangover for ACOTAR trilogy. I really liked The Ravens cycle books too and I am planning to read the Throne of Glass after Christmas. What I like the most is that it makes me dream when I am reading. It makes me feel so much emotions and everything is possible. The stories in YA books makes me forget the real world.

:) Bye!

message 6207: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn Ford (cathy87) | 64 comments Hi, I'm Kathryn. I love YA books. Mainly of the fantasy type; although, I have read a few romances lately. I've just self-published my own book. Being an author is hard work, you get less time to read. :(
Things you should know about me:
I'm blind, I'm from South Africa, I am addicted to coffee and jelly teddy bears, my favourite genre of music is powermetal, my favourite movie is Cool Runnings and Kingdom of Heaven. I have way too many favourite books to mention here, but some of them are: All the Harry Potters, Throne of Glass, all books by Leigh Bardugo, all Tamora Pierce books, all Mercedes Lackey books, the lux series by Jennifer l. Armentrout… okay I'll stop now. If you want to check out my author profile you can go here:
https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...

I'm not really sure where to start participating in this group. If someone could please point me in the right direction, I'd really appreciate it. :)

Morgan (loveleighreading) Hello, I'm Morgan.
I am 28 and recently got back into reading after being in a slump for a few years. YA Fantasy/Sci Fi is my favorite reading genre, I'm also a big fan of historical and supernatural Romance. I do tend to prefer my stories to have somekind of romantic element even if it is not the main focus. I am also a big fan of anime, manga and Japanese or Korean webcomics. I have an entire bookshelf dedicated to strictly manga. I'm interested in getting more involved with the bookish community and look forward to making new friends in the group.

Favorite Book: Cress
Favorite Author: Marissa Meyer

Hi, I'm Natalia Rose Wolfman. I can never choose what my favorite book is but it's a tie between IT by Stephen King and The Outsiders, though I'm mostly a horror geek. My favorite author though has to be Stephen King, his descriptions are fabulously written.

Welcome Natalia. :) I've read Pet Semetry from Steven King and really enjoyed it. Do you have any recommendations as to what other books of his I should try? :)

message 6229: by N.R. (new)

N.R. Wolfman | 3 comments Hey Erika, I've read a bunch of his works and really, you just can't go wrong with whatever you choose, it really depends on what you're looking for. I know that IT is really popular now thanks to the Muschetti adaptation and it makes a great time killer if you want a long term red. The Shining is good if you're okay with long expositions. If you are looking for a shorter read: Carrie and The Sun Dog are both very well done and generally short.

It really just depends on what you're looking for but if you just want to read some of his works, I'd recommend IT since IT is one of my personal favorites.

ReneeQueen RenneQueen is my name, and reading is my game! I love a good YA fantasy and dystopian book, but I am one to really read about anything that catches my interest! But, when it comes to YA, a couple of my favorite series are Legend and The Lunar Chronicles. I hope to find some new series, in this group, that catch my interests.

As of December 25,2019 I have currently started Renegades by Marissa Meyer. Merry Christmas!

Some of my favorites are Tolkien, JK Rowling, Jane Austen, Sarah J Maas, Tamora Pierce, Julie Kagawa and Robert Jordan. Looking forward to some good discussions and maybe making some new friends.
