I'm Jake Elliot and ‘The Wrong Way Down’ was released through Damnation Books on December 1st 2011. E-books and Paperbacks are being sold through Amazon and at Barnes and Noble.com. The first three chapters are free to read at http://www.amazon.com/Wrong-Way-Down-....
I write a style known as sword and sorcery, a gritty style similar to Robert E. Howard’s ’Conan,‘ with a flair for horror, bumping along a darker side of storytelling.
The tale begins with two thieves breaking into a remote monastery. After murdering a priest and stealing a jeweled scepter, one thief is caught, but the other escapes with the prized object. Unknown to the thieves, the scepter they’ve stolen is sacred, and now the responsible gang’s lives are cursed and forfeit. This is the story of their deaths.
Popalia is a budding priestess from the temple where the crimes occurred. Given the task of escorting the captured thief to the nearest military garisson, it does not take long for things to go wrong. Vowing to seek out and return the stolen relic, she in-turn opens herself to an uncountable number of unforseen hazards. Accompanied by two mercenary soldiers with questionable loyalties and an inexperienced sorcerer whose spells prove unpredictable; together, they stand at strange crossroads. This is the story of their fall.
