American Gods by Neil Gaiman American Gods by Neil Gaiman

Rating: 1 star

Review:

Well, I really love Neil Gaiman, he's a great storyteller and some of his books are among my favorites. I was very excited to read this book which is probably his most famous one, but sadly I just couldn't even finish it.

This book is written in a very different way from other books, it tells stories to explain the whole story. this might be really interesting to other people, not for me, I thought it was boring and totally uninteresting and it just made the story feel longer and hard to get through. At least that's me.

The story started out great, Shadow was a prisoner and had been there for three years, he was planning everything he wanted to do with his wife after he was released, only to find out that his wife got killed in a car accident and some other things. I was expecting to go through a tragic read of sorrow with Shadow, but instead he encounters with Wednesday, a mysterious guy who offers him a job and starts working with him... more

The Man in the Iron Mask (The D'Artagnan Romances, #5) by Alexandre Dumas The Man in the Iron Mask by Alexandre Dumas

Rating: 2 stars

Review:

I didn't know how to review this book and just started writing randomly until some thoughts about the book illuminated me and I could write some a proper rant about this book review.

So, here it is.

First, I never really figured out it was part of a series "The D'Artagnan Romances", so when I found this book free for being public domain I couldn't stop myself and got it immediately. I was really excited to start this book. I don't really remember the movie but I remember I liked it, that's why I thought I would absolutely adore this book.

I thought this book was going to be about Phillipe, the man in the iron mask and how he was being punished that way because the king Louis XIV wouldn't risk his royalty, and the battle to free him, something like that. The truth is this book was more about the musketeers and the man in the iron mask is only a subplot of it... more

And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie

Rating: 4 stars

Review:

This was a thrilling book, entertaining enough to keep me reading from beginning to end in one day, even when I was at work!! And it kept me guessing all the way through.

The plot is basically as follows: Ten people are reunited at an island by a guy named Owen, they were all contacted by mail and had no idea who this Owen guy is.

**Mild spoilers ahead**

The following contains things that can be guessed just by logic and won't alter your enjoyment...

If Looks Could Kill (Bailey Weggins Mystery #1) by Kate White If Looks Could Kill by Kate White

Rating: 4 stars

Review:

This was a fun and interesting read. I will absolutely continue reading the rest of the books in the series!

If Looks Could Kill is a mystery book!.

Lately I've been feeling an urge to read mystery-thriller books and this was just what i needed to feed it rightly. The mystery was compelling enough to keep me wondering and reading.

Now, throw into that mystery a Sex and the City vibe and you're good to go!

I really love sex and the city, the TV show at least, I have not read the book (I didn't know there was a book until a few days ago) and I have no intention of reading it, since many reviewers agree that it Sucks. But the TV show is really good and that's exactly the feeling i got from here... more

The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde

Rating: 4 stars

Review:

Oh Man, Why do I always have problems reviewing a classic?

Perhaps it's because there's already been said a lot about them by so many people. Perhaps it's because I don't feel I can do justice to them saying whatever I think about them.

It's just hard for me.

Now I can understand why some people who always review books leave the classics "unreviewed".

All I can say about this book is that I liked it... a lot. Usually I suck reading the classics, I've attempted reading some of the most well liked out there and I just couldn't stand them. But this was incredible!

I liked so much the dark atmosphere it offered, Probably that's what I should do, read some of the dark, witty classics instead of the romances like Pride And Prejudice...more

The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson

Rating: 4 stars

Review:

This is a very well known story, I'm pretty sure everyone or at least most people have a clear idea of what this book is about, but in case someone doesn't know... (view spoiler).

This book was written in a way to make the story a true mystery, so the reader would be thrilled reading all the time wondering what the hell was going on until getting to the big revelation.

That's what made me sorry, knowing in advance what was going to happen, knowing the details of what really was going on, and not feeling the mystery as such. But I can still perceive how the mystery was really well built and how the intrigue was kept throughout the read...more

The Kill Order (Maze Runner, #0.5) by James Dashner The Kill Order by James Dashner

Rating: 1 star

Review:
My thoughts before reading the book:

Wow, this sounds interesting!
_____________________________________________________________

My thoughts after reading the book:

Well, that was disappointing...

I'm gonna warn you guys, and you should take it seriously as a fair warning:

Do NOT read this book and/or review if you haven't read the ENTIRE Maze Runner Trilogy.

Just don't... if you're planning on reading the trilogy. At least not if you don't want to get spoilers for the whole three books.

Now that it's set i will start off by mentioning why this book was such a disappointment for me...more

UnWholly (Unwind, #2) by Neal Shusterman Unwholly by Neal Shusterman

Rating: 4 stars

Review:

This sequel of Unwind was really interesting! I think it complimented the story really well, it explored many different possibilities about the unwinding process.

throughout the book there are many "ads" about associations communicating their concerns about the laws regulating unwinding. Some of them were really interesting and even fun.

There was an introduction of a new character, which I thought was really compelling, Cam...more

Storm Front (The Dresden Files, #1) by Jim Butcher Storm Front by Jim Butcher

Rating: 3 stars

Review:

Harry Dresden is a very interesting character; he’s a wizard for hire. If you ever need something, he’s in the book.

I thought this first Dresden Files story was fun. That’s all I can say about it, it was fun, entertaining to read, but hell predictable...more

Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson

Rating: 1 star

Review:

This book is from the point of view of Melinda, high school freshman and her dealings in her everyday life.

This is not exactly a happy story, she has to spend a lot of time on her own because people don’t want to talk to her, she’s an outcast, her old friends also stopped talking to her and above all that, she has to deal with “IT”.
