I looked on your shelves, Eva, and while I have no suggestions for the first book you listed, some of the others can be rescued, like this one:

It has the ISBN and the authors' names, so it should be easy to find on Worldcat. Hopefully, many of the unknown books on your shelf have partial information.

Thank you rivka and Jeannette. I appreciate the answers. The shelves give *some* info but not nearly what I'd need to fix it because of the number of books listed. But the ones on a shelf I have called 'I-own' I can probably narrow down and get that info in on those. I'll start on that.

The author of the book listed (unknown author 72) appears to be Jane Willis. Does that help?
I'm not sure but it should. I'm going to do a search on the name and try to narrow it down from there. How did you find that name in connection with this book and is it something can do? I'm going through mine now and I don't have many and luckily about half I've already read and/or own so I'll be able to get those.

I clicked on the placeholder author name, and it gave me a list of mostly unnamed books by that author that had also been lost. but one had a name so I googled the isbn of that one. So, it's a bit of a stretch, and I was probably being overconfident... but it might be a start.

I copy the ASIN number and put in Google like this [ASIN #####] replace the #s with the numbers and letters. I get a return that give me the name of the book.
lol... it's more of a start than I had! Thank you and Ralph, thank you also. Both are great ways to try to find some of this info we need!

Actually, the unknown author number whatever is NOT all one person, so don't rely on figuring out the author of another book listed under the same placeholder.
I rescued a few "Unknown" books just now. Is this site a legitimate/acceptable source for book info?

How can I see what it was previously so I can enter in the info? I checked the librarian log but there's nothing and I know I had no books without title and author.
This is just on my books and Ihave no idea if I really wanted to read it bad or what....
