Hello, back with another book!
This time it's Second Star To The Right. Can't seem to find the correct cover anywhere, so I'll see if I can kick life into my scanner at some point.
Summary:
Uncertain about growing up and unable to cope with the pressures and changes this involves, fourteen-year-old Leslie Hiller feels that dieting is the solution to her problems: “I wouldn't be half bad-looking if I were thin... if I were thin my life would be perfect.”
But “thinking thin” becomes a dangerous obsession and, as her weight drops to five stone, the situation threatens to destroy not just Leslie but the whole fabric of her family life. Only by realising that this illness has its roots in a deeper problem can Leslie hope to survive.
