Yeah same. D:

S.L.J. I hated Rose's whole 'Victim' speech. She was so full of crap.

Summer Lane arushiLisa :) wrote: "@ Summer Ellen--yeah i have to agree with you about Rose not having common sense. That and she was really stubborn :P but that's part of her character. I love Rose and I love Dimitri. I loved Adria..."

Ooh, lucky! I want to read Bloodlines, myself. :) But definitely Rose and Dimitri were meant for each other. I couldn't see them not together, which is why book 3 and 4 were so painful for me, lol

Tracey Yes, I can't believe Richelle Meads granted majority of them a "happily ever after" and then Adrian is left feeling bitter and angry. Seriously, he loved Rose even when he knew about her and Dimitri and yet, she just happily skips back to Dimitri even though he nearly bloody killed her. Why do I sound so crazy?

Azhia Read blooslines Adrian is on the way to happiness trust me.

Alyssa YESSSSSSSSSSS. i feel so bad for him because he makes all these changes in his life for rose, and t6hen she just ups and leaves him for her ex. i mean that really sucks. and speaking from personal experience, she should have never gotten in another relationship if she knew she was still in love with dimitri even though she thought she would never bee able to be wit6h him agian. i mean i get that it sucks, but now, she has broken adrains heart for no real reason... /:

Yeah:( the poor guy i mean he always trying to do what was best for rose!

Vanessa I felt bad for Adrian, but I was 100% a Dimitri fan. Adrian will get his happy ending, but Rose wasn't it. And since I've read Bloodlines now, I'm happy about that.

Im a fan of Dimitri to even if he ticked me off at times! I want to read Bloodlines so bad.

Jessica Emigdio I felt so bad for Adrian!!!! He helped Rose when she needed him, and then when Dimitri came back into the picture, she dropped him like a fly! Not cool!!!!
(I still love Dimitri and Rose together)
((<3Adrian & Sydney<3))

Brittany I love Adrian's character but i didn't like him with Rose. Dimitri and Rose together is a lot better match. But I do feel bad for Adrian, I want him to be happy (with sydney : ] ).

Destinyclaire Coleman i love adrian for me not for rose she has to be with dimitri and thats the way it should be although i wish i could have adrian for myself!!

Angie I loved Rose and Dimitri together, but Adrian did not deserve what happened. I loved Adrian and thought he go totally shafted but I did want dimitiri with Rose

S.L.J. Rose is in fact, incredibly self-centered and arrogant. She got Lissa on the throne, used up Adrian's money, went treking across Russia/Sybria, went on the run in the fist place, hunted Dimitri all because SHE wanted too.

You can say that she did it for Lisaa and other etc. but Lissa never wanted to be queen. Rose put her on the throne. Why? because she wanted it.

She used Adrian as a nictoine patch when she couldn't get Dimitri smokes. She admitted it and still she used him for him money. True, there were some feelings between them but those vanished the moment Dimitri returned.

She used Adrian as a safety blanket. Then she screwed Jill over. A month after Rose plucked her from her normal little life, she gets stabbed to death and Adrian has to revive her and is now spirit bound to her.

Rose does all this stuff without any thought for anyone else. She fought the world in order to clear her name and get Lissa on the throne and now things in the VA universe are worse than ever. There is civil war, Lissa and Jill are targets. Adrian, Eddie, Jill and Sydney have been exiled to California but Rose and Dimitri are togther so it makes everything okay...

Rose has screwed over ever one else in the story.

That's why I like Sydney alot more.

Amanda (Gale's Chosen One) Potter I felt terrible for Adrian. It's like Richelle hates Adrian or something and wanted to punish Adrian fans.
I did love Dimitri and Rose but i got so sick of their relationship. It was the most predictable romance since Edward and Bella. So i hated it. I hated what they did too Adrian. I don't care if Adrian should have seen it coming, it makes no excuse for what they did too him.
So now that i think about it Rose and Dimitri deserve each other. I actually dislike Rose now. Plus Dimitri so serious and boring then sleeping with Rose when she's with someone else pissed me off even more.
I know Adrian is no saint but i love him. He is so much more fun and outgoing. He's my ideal boyfriend. Except for the smoking and drinking of course, but i understand that.

Faith Kilgore I felt SO bad for Adrian. I always loved Dimitri and Rose, to this moment they're my favorite book couple... but Adrian was good in so many ways..... I still have to read bloodlines and see if he's around in them.

Samia Ruponti I am total Dimitri girl, but when I finished last sacrifice, I cried. Not for Rose and Dimitri, but for Adrian. But bloodlines gave me hope, since Sydney is way better suited to Adrian than Rose!

@ Summer Ellen total agree!!! rose is even more impulsive than me(which is saying something!)!! She needs someone with Dimitri's calm head.

Samia Ruponti Tracey wrote: "Yes, I can't believe Richelle Meads granted majority of them a "happily ever after" and then Adrian is left feeling bitter and angry. Seriously, he loved Rose even when he knew about her and Dimitr..."

I think Richelle wouldn't have done it if she didn't plan on Bloodlines. She needs a plot line for a spin-off, after all!! :P I too, predicted that we were going to get a sad ending (rose choosing Adrian and Dimitri going, well, I don't know, ballistic?) but as soon as I found out about the spin off, understood that we are going to get a happy ending.

Gopika Adrian is awesome and didn't deserve to be dumped so unceremoniously. I felt way bad for him. I didn't particularly like Dimitri and Rose together. They're perfect for each other and all but Dimitri doesn't sound as appealing as Adrian. He seemed pretty boring in comparison.

Alela nope, not really - I more than agree with what Rose said to him in their last conversation.

Sarah I so feel bad for Adrian. He was so good to her and always came to her aid, completely loyal. Not to mention the fact that she used him several times and even cheated on him! Rose was pretty much a jerk and it made me feel less excited for her and Dimitri in the end.

Maya I felt bad for him but at that time I was just sooooo happy for Rose ;-)

Jennifer I loved that Adrian finally fell in love with someone that he could be his self with. I was sad that Rose and Adrian didn't work out. But he also knew how she felt about Dimitri. But i was happy when in bloodlines that he was able to love again with Sydney. They are definitely suited better for each other.

Pamela I feel really bad for Adrian. I actually wanted him to end up with Rose. For some reason I never really connected with Dimitri. I really didn't like his attitude for some reason.

Shaheen yup... i felt bad when he said 'the deal is null and void'... his last words in last sacrifice.. :(

S.L.J. I don't think Rose knew what she was talking about when she said Adrian was a victim. She was very accurate but the meaning was lost on her.

Adrian is a victim. noun - a person who is deceived or cheated, as by his or her own emotions or ignorance, by the dishonesty of others, or by some impersonal agency:

Rose is something much worse. She's a slave to her own heart. Everything she does is because she wants it. She can't look past it and therefore can't act selflessly. Bringing Dimitri back, getting Lissa on the throne, all of it was because she wanted it, not because it was for the greater good. She practically ruined Jill's life and actually got her killed, why? Because she wanted Lissa to be queen.

Adrian was like a nicotine patch when she couldn't get hold of cigarettes (Dimitri). Rose's actions may appear selfless but she is in fact incredible self-centered. If you look more closely at her through process, you see that she massivily arrogant and completely devoid of the possible consequenses to her actions.

Wow couldn't agree more.
Your description of Rose is spot on.

Maria I felt kind of bad for him but he already knew Rose loved Dimitri so it was his foult for thinking he could be with Rose

Maybe it's a guardian thing. Most of the guardians are idiots. Seriously behind the times. I'm surprised they live as long as they do. Only about half of them carry guns, none of them wear kevlar, the near/far guard thing hasn't been used in about 200 years and they never check their vehicles for explosives.

It really wouldnt be difficult to assassinate Lissa if they put some thought into it. A sniper could probably pick her off or you could just posion her since they never check the food/drink. Car bomb would be easy or just a group of guys with uzi's suddenly jumping out and gunning her guards down in a heartbeat. None of them wear body armor so no problem there. Soldiers run through gun fire with 80 pounds of gear and yet they can't even give their Guardians a bullet proof vest? They must be trying to cut back on their defense budget.

If three teenagers can break into their most maximum security prison, then it's pretty obvious that they are doing something wrong.

Sorry, I don't mean to rant. But throughout the VA books, we're told that the Guardians are the best of the best and yet it's like they invite death on themselves. 20 Guardians Vs. 20 Marines, who do you think would win? The guys with the pointy stakes or the dudes that can fire off 800 rounds a minute?

Alela Sammy, I don't think you understood the topic. Try to read it again, maybe reading it more slowly would help?...:D
And to your ranting - yeah, modern technology ruins all the fun - what's the point of learning martial arts if one bullet would be enough? I think R. Mead was trying to create story in a modern world, but tried to pretend there are no guns or maybe we're just to assume that guardians have metal/rocket/etc detectors and are taking precautions against it? And don't forget the magic and ward thingy. Whatever the case, IMO the world R. Mead created in VA is very believable and logical for the most part, but still it's a fiction you have to remember that. Tell me at least one paranormal book that's perfect? So what if that world has some holes in it? You don't go around saying uuu, there's no such things as vampires. It's still better and more solid fantasy world than most. Otherwise it wouldn't have such huge fan base...

Very true. I was only thinking about it because now Adrian, Jill, Eddie and Sydney (well, maybe not Sydney) are now sort of stuck in the human world and it just got me thinking. I'm definately still a fan of VA and Bloodlines and still waiting eagerly for Golden Lily. :)

Alela Though I must admit, Sammy, your topic is much more interesting than the current one :) I'm rereading the series right now, in book one and two there's actually some references to guardians learning to use all sorts of guns including modern shotguns, etc., and in the second instalment there's also some talk about high security measures taken to protect royal moroi, I don't know if those include metal detectors and stuff, but there is smth to it. So maybe we are just to assume that like in president's office, in royal moroi court the same security measures are in act as well?

Ceri i also haven't read bloodlines. I will someday but i was so frustrated at the end of this series i have no desire to do it again. I really felt bad about adrian, he wasn't even part of a real love triangle, he just got used. By the end Rose was no longer one of my fav characters, she was spoiled and a brat. I would say that this series was ruined in the end.

S.L.J. RM recently had a big chat with fans online. Some of the things she said were that Rose and Christian and Abe are definately going to be back. She also said that TGL is longer than Bloodlines and will have a massive chiffhanger ending.

message 86: by Ceri (new) - rated it 3 stars

Ceri i am new to the group and posting, i just saw the topic and posted a comment because the ending of this series always bothered me. i didn't see that i jumped into the middle of a good debate, sorry about that. I sound like a crazy person in the middle of it. :0

Alela Rose - means action, means - yay :)

Grace Gerdes i totally felt sorry for adrian. he had it coming to him though, he should have known rose would have ended up with dimimitri. it was really just wishful thinking on his part.

Diana Rocha i totally felt bad for him. poor guy. he didnt even stand a chance against dimitri DX

Fallon Farmer I really need to read bloodlines! I hope that he gets a better go around in that book! :)

Vibhuti @Emerald _ i so totally agree! Adrian was the perfect guy. Dimitri was the one Rose loved, but Adrian was The One. Once you thought about everything and looked past his imperfections, he was the one that was always there for her when Dimitri wasn't. I felt bad for him when Rose chose Dimitri, because at some point, he had dislodged Dimitri from my heart and replaced him :) i do the exact same thing, where i pretend Adrian was with Rose in their little cabin/house instead of Dimitri :D

Katie Urgh! I feel guilty saying this (sorry Dimka) but there was a time when I really wished Rose to end up with Adrian instead. But since I'm a faithful Hathaway-Belikov fan, it lasted for about 2 weeks.

message 93: by Shana (new) - added it

Shana I feel really bad for Adrian too... Dimitri kept hurting Rose, intentionally or not, and Adrian stuck by Rose and would do anything for her. (look at the dating proposal he wrote for her, even though we don't know the exact details) And Richelle Mead made Rose cheat on Adrian, not once, but multiple times, something that would really suck. Even though I will be very hesitant to read any of her new books/series, I kinda understand her reasoning. Richelle Mead is doing a spin-off on Adrian, to make the series longer (and gain her more money, sorry, I'm not one of her fans anymore after her recent failures in writing)and the series would last longer if Adrian was deeply hurt (Rose cheating on him) and it would be more interesting for people if Adrian took a long time to trust the next girl he'll love in the Bloodlines series. Basically I believe this is all a setup for Bloodlines...

I cried! Wet the pillow and faced a very awkward 'interrogation morning" with mom! :P

Silent_count Shana wrote: "I feel really bad for Adrian too..."

As did I, till I looked at it from the other way around. I think that Adrian is basically a good person and he didn't deserve to finish up being punished... by ending up with someone like Rose.

There's a special spot in my heart for Dimitri too. "I am honourable. I do the right thing. I couldn't possibly steal a woman off a good man for whom I have great respe... oooh! Boobies!"

I'm one of those who are happy that Rose and Dimitri ended up together. Not because they deserve happiness, but because they thoroughly deserve each other.

---

For all of the Rose+Dimitri fans in this thread, I wonder how many of you would wish a happily-ever-after on the main character if it was a bloke who went around stringing along and dumping nice girls, just to fill in his down-time when he couldn't be with the girl who he really wanted.

message 96: by Allison (last edited Mar 22, 2012 10:42AM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Allison i feel bad that he'd made the wrong decission for himself. He was blind sided by roses beauty and that took over his feelings. If she was ugly would he have picked her because of her personality? Definitly not.

Cant say i felt bad with what happened when Dimitri stepped back into the picture. All the signs were there. He just choose to ignore them.

Betsy While I completely understand that Dmitri and Rose have the "love of a lifetime" going on, and believe they should be together, I felt awful for Adrian. He needed Rose and her love. He was so good to her and it was sad that Rose couldn't return his feelings. ):

Whitney Nope. He's prob going to end up with Sydney anyway.

Katie Whitney wrote: "Nope. He's prob going to end up with Sydney anyway."

I dont want Adrian to end up with Sydney. :(((
