Imagine that on tv.

Announcer: "Now, an emergency message from our President."

President: "Every year a thousand men get their dicks cut off in this country!"

“To prevent penile cancer, it is necessary to clean the organ with soap and water everyday, especially after sex and masturbation,” according to the department’s website.

Seriously?!? There's such a thing as penile cancer and you can get it by not washing your dick? Quick!! Where's my damn Softsoap???

Our president is very stupid. The worse president ever, but this is not the most absurd thing that he had said. He asked at Twitter what is golden shower. But his opinions about gay rights, feminism and racism are even worse.

message 165: by Rafael (new)

Rafael da Silva (morfindel) | 635 comments It's sad the men don't bother to keep their health by good hygiene and the president (trying to smokescreen critiques about his corruption accusations and misdeeds) have to ask them to wash their penises.

J. Gowin Bolsonaro is a concerning character. However I find the situation that has brought him to power in Brazil to be far scarier.

message 167: by Rafael (new)

Rafael da Silva (morfindel) | 635 comments How you see the situation that brought him to power? What was the situation for you?

message 168: by J. (new)

J. Gowin Brazil is one of the ten largest world economies but it keeps generating numbers that are indicative of a failed state. (For instance a national murder rate of 23.8 murders per 100,000 residents as compared to the US with 2.3 per 100,000) This is made worse by a government which spent insane amounts of money on hosting multiple world sporting events without making much if any profits while having to clear out the slums with force to prevent embarrassment on international tv.

If Brazil becomes a failed state it will be worst for the Brazilian people, but the economic and political impacts will reverberate throughout the Americas.

message 169: by Rafael (new)

Rafael da Silva (morfindel) | 635 comments What you said is bad, but it has nothing to do with the current state of Brazil. It's quite complex in some way, and simple in another one. The media carry a lot of responsability of it. It was responsible of vilify one former president (Lula) and help to impeach the former one (legally elected). The vice president (Michel Temer) gave a coup d'etat and removed Dilma Rousseff. She was acquitted of all corruption charges against her, but they only want to remove her, so, they get it. After that the former president and, at the time, candidate (Lula) was accused of corruption and was imprisoned for it, the proofs are circunstantial, in a normal situation he would be released but they need him in jail because he will won the election, so what they did? A judge (Moro) condemned Lula and was rewarded with a ministerial position by Bolsonaro. Bolsonaro has ties with criminals that could be the ones who killed a city councilwoman (Marielle) and until now no one knows who are the ones who ordered the murder. He lied to be elected, he accused the adversary of be a pedophile, that he was planning to destroy the brazilian traditional family by approving "gay rights" and the crowds applauded him for saying these lies. He is a fascist buffoon unable to read the telepromter, he champions a torturer from the brazilian military dictatorship that have tortured even children and pregnant women. He lies and people believes. I dont know what caused this falling toward ignorance that hit brazilian people in the last years.

Ken B | 6810 comments I was at a restaurant a while back and ordered a grilled pork chop. The waiter, a kid, asked me how I wanted that cooked. I told him, "Done!". He said, "No, like medium or well". I said, "Never mind. I'll have the bone-in rib-eye medium rare".

I have been told since that some places are offering medium rare pork chops. I'll pass.
