Hi Cathy, I have started this book today. Really different world building here. I like the fact that it's in Australia. Just getting into the characters.

Hi Cathy, not sure if you've started the book or not. Just some thoughts

The world building is interesting but confusing. I did not realize that this was a spinoff from another series. I feel like I've stepped into the middle of something. And I just get more confused as the book goes on.

Risa is an okay character. I don't feel like we get to know her very well. The author hints at things in the past but doesn't explain. I feel it's all very surface.

Not crazy about casual sex instead of relationships. This is probably my least favorite part of the book. I much prefer the books I read to have a relationship in them and the sex is connected to that relationship. Casual relationships that include sex is not something I'm that interested in reading about.

So, at the moment it's a mixed bag for me. I'm enjoying the story and I really like Azriel. I find the idea of reapers guiding souls to be fascinating.

You should definitely stay away from the Riley Jensen books if you don't want to read about sex without a relationship. As a werewolf, she had to have sex during the full moon and she wasn't always in a relationship. I am way behind on this book. I had a family emergency so my reading time has been real restricted this week.
