Diane | 13052 comments You do have some great books and authors on your list! Here is an easier way for you to add your book links:

Right above the comment box is a link that says "add book/author:. Click on the link and a search box will appear. You can locate your books and/or author in that search box by entering the title and clicking on the "search" button. When you find the book you are looking for, just click the "add" button, and the book or author link will become embedded in your comment.

Snow Flower is one of my all-time favorite books!

Have to agree that Snow Flower will probably prove to be one of my favourite books.
I had read Shanghai Girls recently (only book read by Lisa See) and found it to be only so,so / mediocre / a interesting read but nothing special..
Was I surprised when read Snow Flower - I found it hard to believe that it was written by the same author... I will have to read more of hers now & hope they are more like Snow F. than Shanghai G. !!

I felt the same way about Shanghai Girls. I loved Peony in Love, too, but am probably in the minority since the reviews aren't great.

Visited South Africa.

I have (with a struggle) just finished reading "Burger's Daughter" by the Nobel Prize winning author Nadine Gordimer.....
This is a story that needs to be told and should be told but huge chunks of it were way, way over my head...
