I came across a book initially published in 1965 that has 2 separate entries. The title is the same (Aunts Up The Cross) but the author name differs (Robin Dalton and Robin Eaton). According to Wikipedia, Dalton was the author's married name, but at the time of publication, she was divorced.

It seems books using both names do exist, and I think it's logical for them to be placed under the one entry, but I am not sure what GR policy is about such situations.

We put the book under the name it was first published under and add the secondary name to the books published under the secondary name as well.

I have just re-read a book ( for book club) that I listed as read a couple of years ago, and can see no way to re-record this in my current year's list. Am I trying to do the impossible, or is there a way around this ?

To do a re-read and record it Trish, you 'review another edition'. So for example, The Berlin Zookeeper - where you have the book's profile in front of you, you'll see one or more editions. If you've read it once and want to read it again, click on the middle 'review ?? edition'. So you can do a complete new review (or just rating) of the different edition and it'll show you've read it 2 times. I hope that makes sense...

Or now that we can re-read books, go to your edition ~ you change from read to currently reading, then once again hit read and it will take you to the edit page where you enter the new dates. You will also see the existing date read. So 2 (or more) re-reads of the one edition.

I just add the dates read? Or for example, I just started re-reading Shadow and Bone and as soon as I changed it to 'currently reading' it noted the date as a fresh start date and says 'reading for the second time'. I've never had to change editions?

Exactly. We used to have to do it the way Brenda described, but they added re-reading about 2 yrs ago, where you don't have to change editions.

So, I can combine book editions and I know to check author's names to make sure all book editions link to same author to enable combining BUT how do I combine to 2 author profiles?

ETA: There is an extra space... so 2 different authors, I think, no worries, I've amended all that needs to :)

Kim - https://www.goodreads.com/author/show... - is correct, and her name has to have two spaces between Kim and Kelly. So the books for the unknown profile that are hers, need to have the spaces added. Do you want to do that Tien, or will I?
