Kayleigh {K-Books} (kayley_12) I thought it'd be a great idea to have The Hunger Games as our February Series of the Month.
It's one of my all time favourite series and it started off my dystopian obsession. The movie is out in March and I am super excited for it so how appropriate to read The Hunger Games this month in preparation for the Movie.
I will be re-reading them sometime this month and I can't wait to delve back into this amazing series.

J.A. Belfield (jabelfield) I've not long read The Hunger Games, but have yet to get to the other two. I'm glad I started the series. I'f I'm honest, it was the fact the cover I saw for it made the book look more like a spy novel that distracted me from reading it. And if I hadn't won it on somebody's blog, I might have not gotten around to it still. But I'm mightily glad I did, and I'm soooo looking forward to the film now. :o)

Kayleigh {K-Books} (kayley_12) Me too. It's a brilliant series Book 2 is my favourite =)

J.A. Belfield (jabelfield) Just remember to stick any spoiler comments so they're hidden. My tic goes into overdrive if I spot any spoilers. ;o)

Kayleigh {K-Books} (kayley_12) Yes I will ;)

Jade aka MrsTosh (mrstosh) Oh I haven't started the books yet although they are on my TBR list...this might just give me the push I need to read them :D

Denae (denae3) | 250 comments Ok so I finished the all three books...I love them! :) I was disappointed for two reasons at the end of book 3...but I don't remember how to hide spoilers so I won't blab lol...on to my next book. :)

message 8: by J.A. (new)

J.A. Belfield (jabelfield) To hide spoilers, Denae, you simply write < spoiler > before the spoiler (but with no spaces) and then at the end of the spoiler. You can always click the tiny 'preview' option down below beside the 'post' button to check it's work and the code's in there correct. :o)

Tanya Davis (rantingreadingaddict) | 5 comments The Hunger Games is an amazing series. All three books were nearly impossible to put down and I daydreamed about reading them all day at work! I don't think I'm going to get time to read them again before the movie. This time of year seems to be flooded with the latest installments in the other series I read.

Denae (denae3) | 250 comments Thanks Julie! :) lol ok so....this is what I didn't like...and I think it's just me over thinking it or maybe I just didn't want it to end yet lol...I dunno..so three things (view spoiler) Ok...I'm done...just my opinion lol

A.Roma 🇵🇸 (man-u4kb) im sooo excited for the movie! i can hardly wait!!

Kyra I absolutely love this whole series! Those who haven't read it, you're in for a fantastically beautiful adventure of life and death situations, family struggles, amazing characters, love that runs deeper that just romance, and a truly heartbreaking and inspiring story of survival!

message 13: by J.A. (new)

J.A. Belfield (jabelfield) Well, because I'm a TOTAL romantic at heart, I need to read on if only to discover who she ends up with. It's heard to judge from the first book (the only one I've read) because we're blasted with the development between her and the one with her, but are only allowed the opening to see the lay of the land with the other one apart from her thoughts catching on him now and again.

How about that for cryptic because I'm too lazy to type in the spoiler code this morning?

message 14: by Denae (new)

Denae (denae3) | 250 comments lol You're too funny Julie! ....but you should definitely read on! I loved this series! :)

message 15: by J.A. (new)

J.A. Belfield (jabelfield) I will, Denae. Just as soon as I've cleared some of my tbr pile, and I have some spare pennies so I can buy the next book guilt free. :o)

message 16: by Denae (new)

Denae (denae3) | 250 comments Is your tbr pile huge like mine? I keep finding more and more books to read, so my pile just keeps getting bigger and bigger lol....but I think I have put a pretty good chunk in the these past two months! lol

message 17: by J.A. (new)

J.A. Belfield (jabelfield) Mine is MAJORLY huge. And yes, I keep adding to it. And then, yes, I get distracted by recommendations and swing off to check those out. And yes, I have no will power. I'm trying to be good. But if I see something I really want to read at a totally bargain price, then I'd probably crack. I've read a good few this year. But they mostly seem to be random reads, when I'm usually a linear of series reader. I need to get suckered into a decent series again. Bummer that the one I'm desperate to read on in at the moment hasn't got the 2nd book out yet.

message 18: by Denae (new)

Denae (denae3) | 250 comments Wow....you sound like me! lol I have no will power either! :\ Have you tried reading the Morganville Vampire series? I really enjoy it! :o) You may too! lol

message 19: by J.A. (new)

J.A. Belfield (jabelfield) I have the first one in the series in paperback. I'm slower to read PB's than what I have on my kindle because I tend to flip from one that's boring me to a new one without having to get up. Lazy, eh? lol

Kayleigh {K-Books} (kayley_12) I LOVE Morganville. It's brilliant!

message 21: by Denae (last edited Feb 19, 2012 12:22PM) (new)

Denae (denae3) | 250 comments LOL I can see doing that Julie! lol You should just set the first one beside you and when you find a book that bores you, instead of flipping to another ebook....pick up Glass Houses (The Morganville Vampires, #1) by Rachel Caine :o) lol

Me too Kay! I just finished Last Breath and can't wait for the next one to come out! :)

A.Roma 🇵🇸 (man-u4kb) Me too! i LOVE Morganville vampires series! im waiting for the 12th book to come out! my fave characters are Myrnin, Oliver, Amelie, Shane and Micahel <3<3<3

message 23: by J.A. (new)

J.A. Belfield (jabelfield) It IS beside me, Denae. It's right behind my laptop lid when I'm writing. But I'm such a ditz I always forget I have books there. :o\

Kayleigh {K-Books} (kayley_12) Denae, did you cry at Last Breath? I bawled like a baby lol

message 25: by Denae (new)

Denae (denae3) | 250 comments OMG Kay! I so wasn't expecting that to happen! It definitely threw me for a loop....and I def did tear up a bit! lol

Geezz Julie lol...we need to put a sticky not on your screen or something lol :o)

Kayleigh {K-Books} (kayley_12) anyone seen the movie yet?
IT'S PERFECT! EPIC! AMAZING! BEST BOOK-TO-MOVIE ADAPTATION I'VE EVER SEEN!
Squeeeeaaaaalllll!!!!!

message 27: by J.A. (new)

J.A. Belfield (jabelfield) LOL, Kay. You do make me giggle with all your little pokes about the film. Why yes, yes I did see it. Might be going to see it again with my friend, yet. Hoo-hoo! :o)

Kayleigh {K-Books} (kayley_12) Yay!
I'm going at least another twice. I'm soooooo excited. I thought my excitement would fade after seeing it but it so didn't. I saw the trailer today and I started squealing but instead of saying omg i'm so excited it was a "Oh My God it's amazzzzzzing" SQUEAL!

message 29: by Abby (new)

Abby | 12 comments I just finished book 1 today and I`m working on book 2 after saying I never wanted to read it... I LOVED book 1 and book 2 is just about the same... I mean how the HELL can they send them back to the games AGAIN?!?!?

message 30: by J.A. (new)

J.A. Belfield (jabelfield) Hehehehehe, yeah, I think the problem is that the film insists you keep thinking about it even after you get home. It's certainly rare for me to see an adaptation and not say how disappointing it was. This shall rank up there with The Bone Collector for books-to-films I like. :o)

Kayleigh {K-Books} (kayley_12) For me it's the number 1 book-to-film I just love and it may possibly just be my favourite movie ever. I loved it that much. I will definitely be buying it the day it comes out on dvd and I need the 2d special edition.

message 32: by J.A. (new)

J.A. Belfield (jabelfield) Yeah, no doubt this'll be one I grab when it comes out. :o)
