Yay! As soon as I get your answers I'll add you to my list :)

I'm pretty new to writing reviews. I only started a couple of months ago, but now I've gotten the hang of it and write them for every book I read.

Elise (redentrapy) | 338 comments I'm playing and review.

REVIEW: One of the best books I have ever read. Completely original, unpredictable and fascinating. I couldn't put it down. The beginning starts a little slow but even when slow its great. The characters change and grow and have depth. The story line is attention-grabbing and about a dystopian world. You get to join the main character Beatrice as she struggles against choosing family or faction, right or wrong, conquering her fears all of them (literally), and finding love in the strangest of people. The ending was unpredictable and a bit sad so if you don't like sad endings this book is not for you. Divergent is incredibly written, well thought out and overall I would recommend waiting to read it until the next one comes out because it leaves you at the biggest cliffhanger ever. Which faction do you belong to or are you like Beatrice a Divergent..? You will definitely ask yourself that while reading this book. I for one am Divergent.

Adam (daddycracker) | 6 comments Copy of my review...

Divergent is a totally different dystopian novel. Sure, it starts out the same as most, but you cannot reinvent the wheel, right? Anyway, it may have started a little slow, but man did it finish with a hell of a bang. The characters, especially Four, were great. I genuinely invested myself into these characters and felt like I was right along side them throughout this story. Roth does an AMAZING job at painting the horrible, futuristic world of Chicago. Here writing was superb. Many times I felt myself getting worked up, exited and even a bit of vertigo (weird cause I am not afraid of heights). Everyone who enjoys a dystopian tale, or even just an exciting fast paced, can't put it down novel, owes it to themselves to read this book. I cannot wait for the next installment of the series Insurgent (Divergent, #2) by Veronica Roth .

message 19: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (stephyblue) Divergent Review:
I really liked this book. It was an easy, quick read. I heard a lot of people compare it to Hunger Games, and I see it, but more of a Hunger Games lite. But it is just similarities between the two stories, it's definitely not a ripoff.
The writing was okay, by YA standards. I think the characters were well developed. They each had their own personality, and I did feel like I knew them, understood them.
There WAS a love story (that's to be expected in YA dystopia) but it's far from being the focal point of the story, which is a bonus. Of course, you can predict that (view spoiler)
Overall, I got out of this book exactly what I expected, and I will read the sequel!

Anastasia | 548 comments i'm in and i submitted my answers! and i've already read divergent.

It was a great book i loved it! I thought it was unique and it had me on the edge of my seat at a few parts in the story. i liked how Beatrice was a fairly strong character. she wasn't all powerful an "Mary-Sueish" yet she wasn't completely weak and useless. she was able to hold her own and fight. I recommend this book to people who liked the Hunger Games. I can't wait for the next book. :^D

Ciara (cjmama823) OMG!! I haven't found a dystopian book I enjoyed so much since the Hunger Games but I must say, I truly enjoyed this one!!! I couldn't put this one down and finsihed it in one sitting!!! Tris' story and her journey to become Dauntless pulled me in from the first page!! How she leaves behind all she knows in the Abegnation to follow her heart and prove herself as one of the Dauntless, her journey grabs a hold of you and just firmly plants you at the edge of your seat!! There she meets Four, the trainer for the new recruits who teaches her how to play her strengths to her advantage! And where would the story be without a romantic tryst??? I love how their relationship transpires as they try to work against their limitations and help her escape the cruelty of fellow recruits and hide from the consequences of her Divergent status. I love the political aspect and the pivotal role Tris plays in the future of it. But most of all I love the whole aspect of the different societies and what they stand for, the concept of it all and what each represent, Candor, Abnegation, Dauntless, Amity and Erudite. Roth created a whole new world with a compelling new concept of a new society, I loved it!!

Kennedi Here's my review (I sent my answers):
I never really got into dystopian novels until the Hunger Games. I had just finished, and I wondered if I would ever find another one that was as good. Somebody, somewhere recommended Divergent and I have to say: Divergent was a really, really good book. One of my favorites. It is NOT a Hunger Games rip-off, as it has its own amazing story with its own amazing characters. I was once again affected by the 'unable to stop reading' syndrome. I sneaked it in class. I stayed up all night. Oh yeah, and I fell in love with Four. I definitely recommend Divergent to everybody, not just those who loved the Hunger Games.

Diana Stormblessed (dashichka) Is it too late to play? I just saw this. Plus review.
