FYI...We won't pick a 2nd in a series unless we've read the first book as a group. The books we've read are in the group bookshelf:

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 549 comments I nominate The Recruit (Cherub #1) by Robert Muchamore and City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1) by Cassandra Clare . Just to say I had a hard choice between The Recruit (Cherub #1) by Robert Muchamore and The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games, #1) by Suzanne Collins . The Hunger Games have probably already been read so I chose against it.

Me too! I've been looking for an opportunity to read City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1) by Cassandra Clare and would love the opportunity to discuss it.

I've read The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater

message 74: by Jean (new)

Jean Labrador (labgirl) I nominate Widdershins by Charles de Lint one of my favorite fantasy and myth authors. You all probably know that to walk Widdershins is to walk clockwise and the usual way to enter the fae realm. There is a tense relationship between a couple who are more University age and not 15 years old for heavens sake. Plus,It's a "...novel of fairy courts set in shopping malls and the Bohemian street scene of Newford's Crowsea area, where Jilly and Geordie's story is finally being told.

Before it's over, we'll find ourselves plunged into the rancorous and sometimes violent conflict between the magical North American "animal people" and the more newly-arrived fairy folk."

message 75: by Kris (new)

Kris (marketing_gurl) | 7 comments I nominate:

Enchantment by Charlotte Abel Enchantment by Charlotte Abel. This is about a girl who has magical powers but her parents put her under a "chastity" curse. Very good. ;-)

and

One Black Rose by Maddy Edwards One Black Rose by Maddy Edwards. This is about a girl who is destined to be a Fairy Queen and has 2 hot "princes" vying for her. Really good.
