Done and Done. Glad I'm done, too!

Didn't feel the gothic-ness in this one. Didn't care for Martha one bit. Connan was a MIA 'hero' and I had a huge WTF moment towards the end like I missed large chunk of the story.

I wonder why Victoria Holt books are being republished. This read was OK, but I've finished a few much lesser known authors (Mary Bishop) whose story, characters, etc are much, much better.

I'm with you, Susan. Mind you, this was her first and maybe they got better... but I'm not in the mood to retry others right now.
I've never heard of Mary Bishop. Any titles you would recommend?
