R4: Team #15 ~ Five Divining Divas [FIRST PLACE]

Dangerous is one of my favs, Vi, Enjoy!

Shelf: Ghosts
Date: 2.12
Rating: 4 stars
Really loved seeing Adam and Mercy's relationship developed and how they are learning to deal with things together like the rabbit scene. We see a lighter side to Adam which just makes me love him all the more and learn a few things about Mercy's past. It was nice to see Stephan and it explains why he wasn't in Silver Borne. Overall I enjoyed this book minus the few slow parts oh and I loved the letter.

Review:. Finally the Demon King Noah got his turn to find his Druid mate Kestra. She was a warrior and thrill seeker that had an extremely damaged soul from events that occurred in her past. Noah and Kes have to work thru all the emotional baggage, battle more baddies that seem to plague the Nightwalker landscape and get past all the "hey I'm a demon and welcome to my world" stuff. As the forces of evil seem to grow, the Nightwalkers continue to support and organize. Anxious to see where this one all ends up in the final book ADAM.

Copy and paste lol...
About to start

Dawn, Team 13 - Black Cats also got their Free Space stamp. Just an hour or so earlier.
Heather, hope you like the BDB book. I have to get on the bandwagon. Sad to say that I'm not really interested to. I can sorta get the fuss about BDB but I'm not one of them. That HR sounds.. awful. I'm really not one for such big age difference though. And thinking as son and then wife - Reallly??

Thanks, Steph!

I'm liking it so far. There are a lot of things I am willing to overlook in this series but one that has really had me thinking this time out is that Ward writes all the males with the same vocabulary it seems. It's kinda making me laugh to think of Manny, the Chief Hoo-haw surgeon talking to a patient and saying "You get me?" or "You hear me, true?". But that is exactly how he talks apparently...

Happy Valentine Day ladies!! Any special plans for today? None for me - fiancé is back in India so a day spent alone with my book and chocolate.

Vi congrats! Whens the date?

Date- February 15

Review- While all of the other books include lots of pack members or people in them, this one seemed mainly to just include Mercy and Adam. At first, I missed all of the other characters but I did enjoy seeing their relationship evolve. Of course, it included some Spirit Warriors that help them. That being said, in this story you learn about Mercys Native American side and even her father. There was enough drama to keep my attention, so it was a fast read.

Your reviews on the Mercy Thompson series make me wanna pick up the next book now.

Despite its flaws, the BDB series still remains one of my favorites, mostly I think because of how the books are set up. At any given point there is always more than one story-line advancing and as such the reader is able to see what more than just two main characters are doing. This is done both well and not so well in this addition to the series.
There's a reason why some people are saying that this is almost like V's book Part 2. There is a portion of the story devoted to V and Jane. The interactions between V and Butch are very emotional. At the same time though there are no interactions between other past H/h's besides V&J which while mostly understandable due to the plot, still could have been worked in... Perhaps and actual conversation between Butch and Marissa instead of a text message? Also there was no dialogue and only a very slight mention of Tohr and his book's next... and Payne's miraculous recovery seemed slightly convenient.
Overall though, a rather good read with room for a healthy eye-roll at all the OTT gangsta' bad-ass-ness and odd pop-culture references and sayings that you come to expect from the series.

It's ok, Lis. Take your time! How's the book so far? Is it good?
You guys are awesome!! We're almost done on the ghosts shelf. GO Divas!!

Hopefully I can post my review in the next couple of days. It will be done before the next shelf announcement for sure.

That's unbelievable Jennifer, hope everything goes OK, and she gets better real quick. Must of been a shock to the whole family. My thoughts are with you.
And I always try to turn to books to take my mind off stuff like that too. Hope you find a great series.

Review: I've been on a JAK kick - this is my third book in 3 days. Dangerous is a classic AQ. Quirky heroine, sorta tortured hero. Prudence is very much interested in ghosts or spectral phenomena. Sebastian's hobby is investigation. They hit off and despite Sebastian's reputation as The Fallen Angel (God, I love AQ), Prue falls in love with him and they get married. There is a side-investigation into a case of murder involving ghosts. The romance aspect is done very well. Sebastian escaping Prudence's lectures are amusing. I guess time for another trip to the library!
Now I have to rush - I'm meeting my friend for a lunch and a movie. Yay! I do have a life! I started having doubts last week :P
