Rosina | 1714 comments morning ladies

I just checked the cards out and the demon shelf gives 7 teams 3 in a row...we r one of those teams...I didnt see any team that had 4 in a row ....so looks like possibly another 2 weeks...

as well as doing bingo I signed up for an outlander buddy read that starts next week (think it will take 10 days to read)....

crazy i know reading is the only thing that keeps me sane in tax season or for that matter any time....I just love to escape!

Ive had that book (in fact all of the series) sitting on my shelf to be read....figured it is time to read them......have any of you read them.....what were your thoughts....

Lili | 297 comments Shadowfever by Karen Marie Moning 02/28****

Maybe it's the fact that I had very high expectations for this book, maybe it was the long waiting to finally read it, I'm not sure what it was but it just didn't quite do it for me for mainly for these reasons:
- There were so many maaaaany twists and turns... I got so dizzy, bored, confused (and not in a good way), that when everything was explained I didn't really care any more.
- Barrons is untamed power, the biggest baddest bad-ass who can kick anyone's ass... why did he have to end up so "human", that last scene was crap!
- Mac's inner dialogue was tiresome, good God!, so much rambling!
- Dani's talking was soooo annoying!, I mean, seriously!

10 days??
nah!... right before I started with the first one I thought "that's a BIG book!" but the story, the characters and the writing just get you and don't let go.
For me it was really good, it's one of my favorite books, I've recommended it often in the pick-it-for-me challenge and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Michelle (michelle_mc) | 2158 comments I'll update the lists in the morning. Sorry you got annoyed Lili. Dani has always annoyed me to an extent & Mac - although she grows up a lot throughout the series. Barrons is just yummy!

Michelle (michelle_mc) | 2158 comments Ok, I've updated the lists. 2 books to be read from existing shelves and we will have another 2 stamps. Plus all 5 of this weeks books tbr. I'd say we are looking good!

I'm 38% done with mine. Baby girl got 3 new teeth Mon night so I'm running on lack of sleep. Hubby has tonsellitis and a throat abcess so I have little reading time.

I have a book to review for a friend and an ARC to read by tomorrow. Hopefully I can get them done and get back to my book. I forgot how much I like Rachel.

How is everyone getting on?

Katie (kahneks) | 98 comments Completed the demon selection 2/29/12 4.5 stars

Maybe it wasn't a happy ending. But it was a hell of a lot better than she'd expected. You and me both, Chess. I can honestly say I thought she was going to overdose, commit suicide or something...I didn't see how it was going to work out. I like stories that I can't figure out until the end. This book improved on the first and definitely gave us something to look forward to. I was so scared around chapter 18...I certainly saw that coming from the very first chapter - but still totally shocked me. "Truething, Chessiebomb." I guess she had to hit rock bottom, before she can start digging herself out. Terrible remains my favorite, although Lex had a few funny quotes...the one about the possible knife fight with a drawf had me chuckling. I am glad Terrible continues to keep her at arms distance - that girl needs it...and deserves most of it. Some of their secrets came out...very interesting. Do these people have skeletons in their closets or what? Wow. Totally captivated me...this is a great book. I guess we learn something new everyday, ladies. I use the look up function on my iPad all the time, but last night was the first time I used the webdictionary: clapperclaw. I am not going to say anything else. You will have to look it up yourself. That Lex, he is a funny one!
Unholy Magic (Downside Ghosts, #2) by Stacia Kane
I hope next week's shelf is one that I can use the next book for...

You just have to be careful you don't put too many off and end up having to read 3 or 4 to win...
Glad you enjoyed your book :)

Jade aka MrsTosh (mrstosh) Finished Dead to the World (Sookie Stackhouse, #4) by Charlaine Harris 02/03/12 5*

When cocktail waitress Sookie Stackhouse sees a naked man on the side of the road, she doesn't just drive on by. Turns out the poor thing hasn't a clue who he is, but Sookie does. It's Eric the vampire--but now he's a kinder, gentler Eric. And a scared Eric, because whoever took his memory now wants his life.

OMG!! I love this book, and this must have been the 15th time I have read it. How I would like to be driving down the road and pick up a half naked Eric especially Alexander Skarsgård!!! Ding-Dong.

I love Eric Northman period, but after loosing his memory the new and improved eric is almost perfect! Charlaine Harris never fails to make me smile and laugh out load at some of the things Sookie and Eric come out with......

“If there were an international butt competition, Eric would win, hands down—or cheeks up.”

“Come on," I said, taking his hand. Clutching the afghan with the other hand, he trailed down the hall after me, a snow white giant in tiny red underwear.”

This book has to be on my TOP 5 list!

Michelle (michelle_mc) | 2158 comments A Perfect Blood (The Hollows, #10) by Kim Harrison 2/3/12 4★

I love this series, absolutely love it!

Rachel, poor Rachel. The girl just never seems to catch a break. There's always someone after her and they are always a bigger an better baddy than the time before. It does make you wonder how long her luck can last - if you can call it that!

Nice additions in this book, I like the direction it's going in now. Book 10 and I'm finding myself becming attracted to Trent. If you'd told me that early on I would have laughed at you! I like the way his relationship with Rachel is going, it's a slow progressing thing and he is still keeping secrets so I know he's staying true to his character. I think even Rachel is starting to grow up now too.

I had mixed thoughts on Covet too.

I caught the kids bug and my baby girl was up most of the night being sick. I'm a walking zombie just now, my fever broke through the night though so that's a bonus!

I hope the year gets better! Trully x

Rosina | 1714 comments for the paranormal romance shelf I will read Night Play (Dark-Hunter, #5; Were-Hunter, #2) by Sherrilyn Kenyon

I am about 50% finished Kiss of the Night (Dark-Hunter, #4) by Sherrilyn Kenyon ...I am enjoying it just wish I had more time available to read...

Now with our busy season upon us I only am getting about 1 to 2 hours to read through out the day....

I will keep plugging along and hopefully get the one finished and start the other one mid week ...on top of those two I have outlander to read as well....what was I thinking....

As long as you do get to read something, I would go insane otherwise. Are you quite a slow reader then? It only takes me about 3hrs to read a book (that's with the kids, wiithout them it's a lot less).
As long as your having fun and reading is not becoming a chore... :)

Is this a re-read for Outlander? Or, are you a first timer? For me the first half went really fast; then it got a little windy; then it finished up pretty good. I do have a really big problem with this book; I will talk about it with you after you finish it. It wouldn't keep me from reading it though...

I thought there was a big info dump at the end of this book to tie up as many loose ends as possible; I never liked Dani. The scenes with Mac and her; were very annoying. Agreed.

Lili | 297 comments Finished The Darkest Surrender on sunday 01/04 but hadn't had the time to write a review.
3 stars and that's just 'cause I'm feeling generous...

Not the best in the series... I don't know if it's because, like with the demon Lies, Defeat was a pretty lame character to read about, but pretty much all the conversations were childish and quite immature... from both main characters.
Strider was a jerk most of the time and Kaia her happy doormat... yeah yeah, very fierce but Strider's doormat nonetheless.

And about Paris... I understand the author's need to make him hit rock bottom before he finds true love and happiness but whoring him around shows little imagination.

bleh!
