I loved this book!! Took me a while to get my head around the Psy way of thinking but the connection between Lucas and Sasha had me hooked from the beginning. And I worked out who the murder was which always puts a smile on my face :) I will now this minute be starting on book 2 and will definitely be trying some of her other series.
It was an easy read with a classic love story, plenty of heat ;) and yes Michelle I enjoyed Lucas ;) very much...and Hawke I will wait to see what happens next. Who doesn't love a HAPPY ending! :)
Hope you all enjoy your reads x

I'm glad you like it, I've been re-reading them for the group challenge. I need to find time to get back to them :)

I've had this book forever!, seriously, for whatever reason I never got to read it before and I realize now what a shame that was... I'd been missing on a great series!
I used to think about Harry Dresden as a scary, mean, ugly and very powerful old man... turned out he's not old, he's quite funny AND attractive, even if he doesn't think so himself, he's as powerful as I thought he was but in a nice kind of way.
The whole story was pretty confusing, I never really knew who the bad guy was and I liked the way Harry saved the day.
I'm not sure why it didn't quite get my attention, it took me almost a full week to finish it, I liked it, the characters and the plot were interesting enough but somehow... it wasn't excellent... but pretty good!

Hey you guys, is anyone here from Australia?
I just found out that the university where I teach has an international program and Newcastle offers a Graduate Certificate in Educational Studies, it says I can learn how to improve teaching math and science and also teach to deaf/hard of hearing kids and...a lot of other stuff!
I have a bunch of questions, mostly about the country and how expensive it would be, do you know someone I could ask for advice?
oooh!, and of course, I hope I can find a real life wolverine of my own....LOL!

Newcastle is about 150 miles north of me and I'm in Sydney, largest city in Aus. I'm pretty sure Newcastle is in the top 10 size wise of Aus cities. So it would have a mix of good & bad. Being a big uni town there would be student accomodation/cheap shops etc around.
It is a Port city for heavy industry so it is on the coast and they have nice beaches.
Aus $1-04 vs US $1 so we're close enough to par however, average wages are probably a little higher so our costs could also be higher.
What else would you like to know?

I can afford the tuition fees but there's also travel expenses, whatever visa or paperwork I might need, etc... but I'm wondering about rent, I'm thinking I'll be there 1 semester, maybe a whole year and since I don't think I'll be working (or at least I won't be making as much money as I usually do) I need to start saving, ask for a loan at work, I don't know... I just have no idea how much I'll be spending on...stuff!
I remember in Germany public transportation is super expensive so that's something to think about too.
Don't tell anybody I said this but I'm a bit of a control freak, I like to have a plan a, b, c, d and e... right now I have very little information to even start planning! that's why I'm doing some research... so far the best course of action is to "get a rich boyfriend who can pay for the whole thing" but that's just an idea, it needs polishing and a good dose of reality.

As to Visas etc that would be federal govt - http://www.immi.gov.au/students/
Foodwise & stuffwise there are lots of options but just to give you an idea of prices - http://www.australiancatalogues.com/
Public transport wise, Newcastle is on the trainline between Brisbane and Sydney - http://www.cityrail.info/
Buses also service Newcastle - http://www.statetransit.info/

Sounds like a good opportunity! My little cousin is leaving soon for a month at Harvard doing Accident & Emergency medicine. She is so excited! Opportunities like that don't come along often, I hope it all works out for you :)

Right up! I am definitely digging this story...love Chess, Terrible, Lex, and Edsel. I even love Sela! Chess is depressed from ruining her relationship with Terrible and decides to drown herself in work and pills. She winds up taking on a top secret case (for the money) with the Grand Elder's daughter, Lauren, who is an investigator for the Black Squad - I am thinking the squad is like the FBI or something like that... Chess is magically bound not to discuss the case with anyone that isn't directly involved with it - so when Bump gets wind of the investigators in Downside; he has Terrible start tailing/meeting Chess so that Bump gets the knowledge. Working with Terrible/Lauren is taxing Chess and she is taking more pills to get through the day. There is a point in this book where I began to wonder about Chess's power, and think...shit. Chess could be just as powerful as some of these people if she weren't taking 15 or so pills a day! Lauren is a royal pain in Chess's ass. Lauren and Chess get into some close calls together, which made me wonder if Chess was finally going to get a good 'girl' friend (in Lauren) - no dice. Because there have been a lot of times where I thought Chess desperately needed a good girlfriend! But, Chess works better alone... Chess is a stud. I mean she can magic herself out of anything, and if magic won't work then she will kick you in the nads or pull your hair out by the root - she ain't fucking around! How about that bag of hers? Sweet Jesus that is almost as cool as Hermione's in the Dealthy Hallows. She has got everything in there: herbs, snake, mirrors, drugs and spare panties. I loved seeing Chess and Terrible try to work things out in this book, and I hope Chess doesn't take Terrible for granted in the future. I didn't see the end coming, I had my doubts about a couple of characters but had no idea of how the end came about - which is so nice. Who wants to read typical? Not me. This story is far from ordinary. If you haven't taken a trip to Downside you must do so, today! Favorite scene: the bar and car ride afterward. Favorite line: Let em all get the thought I were in here on my alone? What I enjoy most about this series: Chess and Terrible are a real couple with the real problems and real consequences.

Yeah I have read a lots of good reviews on them too, I like her style of writing very easy to read and characters you can help but fall in love with :) will definitely be trying them too!!
Sounds like another one too add to my never ending 'TBR list' Katie, glad you enjoyed it so much! Ohh enjoy Club Dead...I heart ERIC ;)

I wont have time to read Gin before Monday plus tomorrows book so I've changed it. It's been a hard week finding time to read.
I am away from Monday-Friday this week. If it's a possible winning shelf I will try and get my book read before I go away. If it's not a winning shelf I can update the lists when I get home, if it is can one of you make up a list and do the stamp requesting please? I won't have wi-fi when I'm away. I checked :(

I enjoyed this, it has all the usual traits I've came to expect from Shelly's books. The humour was there, the fighting, the bitching, the characters that you think are high, the broody ones...
Yeah... I'm getting bored? a little. Sorry. It's the same formula as all the rest and yes I like it and I'll still be buying it but can we have something new in the next one? A little twist I don't see coming? A different type of personality?
I liked Crush and his interactions with Bo & Nice Guy Malone. Cella was a little crazy but somehow I liked them together. Blayne... Yeah, maybe it's Blayne that's bugging me, might be my mood. Who know's! :) Looking forward to seeing what's in store for the Carnivore's. I think Cella reacted better than I expected and I'm grateful for that.

I really like this series, the last book wasn't as good as the first two and I was a little apprehensive about readig this one but I'm glad I did. I found it a little slow in the beginning but it picked up and by the end it was back to the standard I expect.
I thought it was going to be a 4★ book but the ending took it to 4.5★
I loved the twists at the end, it'll be sad to see Sabina end with the next book but I'm excited to see what Jaye gives us next!

I'll be reading Dire Needs by Stephanie Tyler :)
Happy picking everyone!

I loved this book, it was a refreshing change from the werewolf books that we've been seeing time and time again.
I really liked Rifter but I think Vice might steal my heart, he has a story that's begging to be told... I think I'll have to wait for it though.
I'm really looking forward to Stray's book.

Very Mercy Thompson with a less Alpha female lead character.
I kinda like it but not so much, I'm not sure why... the bad girl didn't help at all (not scary, like Marissa, at all) and, as usual, Briggs goes around and around and around the problem so much that it gets annoying, and then it's all solved in the last 10 pages.
I did like that I got to know more about Bran and the Montana pack, they're Mercy's family and she usually talks about them but we have no idea what she's talking about... I always thought of the Marrok as an old, very wise man, he was always described as a thin 20-ish guy but somehow it just didn't go with the character I had in my mind, now I understand a bit more. Bran's mating situation is depressing, just so sad...

I like Dallas better than Jackson...but still good though. Bill is working on a top secret project, leaves town and later winds up missing. Sookie saves Bill with the help of Eric and her escort Alcide, but also finds out that Bill was unfaithful to her. Sookie offs Lorena, Bill's new but old flame...and ends her relationship with Bill. I have a soft spot for Bubba, and my favorite scene was when Sookie made the phone call to save him from being crucified. My favorite line was when Sookie said: If she were human; I would take care of her myself. I also enjoyed Sookie's time with Alcide. I wonder when Sookie will start working at Fangtasia?

I also loved Alcide in this book, but am always rooting for Team Eric even thought I don't think a Vampire is the best partner for Sookie.....I hope you enjoy the rest of the series as much as I always do :)

Good Job!! :D

The story follows Annalisa Townsend who is sailing to the Caribean with her Father to start a new life after the recent death of her mother. On route the ship they are on is attacked by Pirates, hiding from the attack she is approached by Pirate James Sterling, who instead of robbing her of a valuble necklace that had belonged to her mother steals a kiss and a ring. Her life will never be the same again and she makes it her business to find James Stirling and get back her ring.
This is a great romance book, even though it is a YA book, the depth of love story between James and Annalisa just keep me hooked! nothing more than kisses happen and the odd embrace but it was just the right mixture. After finishing the book it left me with a hugh grim and that warm fuzzy feeling :)

I'll be reading Sugar Daddy by Lisa Kleypas"
I have had this downloaded for months...

I had high expectations for this book, I had read a few reviews and thought it'd be a great story.
I'm not even sure why I didn't end up thrilled, there's just something not working for me here...
The first half of the book was too slow and the second one went too fast, it took forever for something good to happen and sometimes I wasn't sure who the female lead charcter was, Liberty or her mom.
I thoight it was really depressing when Liberty started to take care of her baby sister instead of doing her stuff (like sleeping, doing homework and studying) while her mom went out in dates and then she died...
I can understand why she couldn't see Hardy's true colors at the beginning, she was just a teenager and in love... but as she grew up, she should have noticed how selfish he was.
I did like Gale, he was funny, sexy, hot and sweet. I really enjoyed the scene where he was sick and Liberty showed up at his apartment.

I'll be reading Sugar Daddy by Lisa Kleypas"
I have had this downloaded for months..."
It was good, just not as good as I had hoped it would be, especially since I'm a big fan of Kleypas' work...

I haven't read anything of hers before; but I had heard from other BIG Lisa fans that this was her best work! LOL I need my romance to move along quickly - I need substance; that is why I think PNR is more attractive to me as a reader.
It was good, just not as go..."

I adored this book, enjoy Katie :)"
I am enjoying it so far! She has been poisoned and Hawk and Black have made a gentlemen's deal to win her heart. I wonder if she will get mad at that deal if she finds out...

I'll update the lists, how is everyone getting on with their books? Have you all had a good week?

This is a really good romance about a wronged woman that has sworn off men and a wronged man that is struggling in his relationships because he has a reputation for being a God in bed. Because of this reputation he hasn't found love...only lust. Adrienne and Hawk are brought together by Puck as part of a game overseen by the fairy king. The king wants revenge against Hawk for bedding the fairy queen...but of course it backfires on him. I love the slow building relationship, torment, romance, and the HEA that was so predictable, but yet still enjoyable to read. I will read the rest of the series...just not tomorrow.
