Jade aka MrsTosh (mrstosh) Finished 17.03.12 At Grave's End (Night Huntress, #3) by Jeaniene Frost 4*

I enjoyed this book, and am still loving the relationship between Cat and Bones although I have a feeling that but the time I have finished the next book I might be getting slightly bored with it! :S but I will still probably try to finish the series

Rosina | 1714 comments morning ladies

finished my paranormal mystery choice

Sizzle and Burn (Arcane Society, # 3) by Jayne Ann Krentz 18/03/2012 4★

Raine Tallentyre is finalizing her aunt's estate, when she stumbles across a serial murderer and much more. To her assistance comes Zack Jones, a psychic investigator for Jones & Jones. The two join forces to stop a nefarious organization from taking over the Arcane Society and along the way they find love.

This series is a fun quick read for me. Love the stories of an ancient Arcane Society meets modern day.
JAK really begins to expand on the Arcane Society. The parallel world of modern psychics and the secret society is really developed and becoming more believable.

Will continue with the series.

Michelle (michelle_mc) | 2158 comments You've all been busy! Congrats on finishing the books ladies, glad you both enjoyed them. With Jade finished with Cat, we can now request another stamp. I'll update the lists and do it.

Lili - I hope you like Harry! I'm listening to Fool Moon (The Dresden Files #2) by Jim Butcher on audio just now. James Marsters is a really good Harry. He has that gravelly voice that fits with my vision of him :)

Katie (kahneks) | 98 comments finished Living Dead in Dallas (Sookie Stackhouse, #2) by Charlaine Harris 3/18/12 4 stars for the paranormal mystery shelf

I really enjoyed reading this one. Bill and Sookie get pimped out to the Dallas vampires by Eric...only to have a surprise visit from Lief (Eric in disguise). Sookie (as always) saves the day, gets mad a Bill (no big deal) and runs home to pout. Then Bill and Sam attend a diplomatic session with the Dallas shifters; while Eric and Sookie attend an orgy so the Sookie can read the minds of the party goers to clear Andy Bellefluers name (Bill's great, great, great, grandson...hind sight). Favorite line: Sookie, my little bullet sucker! Favorite scene was Eric's orgy outfit reveal! I will be reading on.

Thanks, Katie! I like that book too, I am not surprised that they didn't include Bubba in the show but I was disappointed initially :) I'll sort out the stamp request when I get back.

That's us up-to-date with the current shelf, happy reading everyone!!!

Jade aka MrsTosh (mrstosh) Finished The Iron King (Iron Fey, #1) by Julie Kagawa 19.03.12 3*

Started and finished this book today as I had some free time....for a change!! Not sure what I thought of it really, didn't love it, didn't hate it. The story follows a young girl who on her 16th birthday starts to discover that aren't at all what they seem, and she is not just human but half fae. In an atempt to save her little brother she embalks on a journey into fairy land and discovers all sorts of creatures and adventures. I can imagine if I was a young teenager I would love this book.....keeps your imagination interested and wanting to know what will happen next, but for an adult something is missing there is just not quite enough in the story to satisy.
I will however probably read the other books in the series when I get around to it!

Jade aka MrsTosh (mrstosh) aww Zina...hate it when that happens!! Especially when loads of people have raved about it and then you read it yourself and are like WTF??

message 326: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michelle_mc) | 2158 comments There is nothing worse!

The only thing is I don't know if scanning 50 pages lets it count for the challenge... You may want to reword it if you read it, I know some people (like me) can scan and read the words but my friends version of scanning is just turning each page and not reading. If that makes sense?

message 327: by Jade aka MrsTosh (new)

Jade aka MrsTosh (mrstosh) I get you! I scn by reading the words really quickly!

message 328: by Katie (new)

Katie (kahneks) | 98 comments When a book is boring me to tears/scanning I will only read the dialogue (nothing that isn't in quotation marks)until the conversations of the charachters bring me back - or not. Sometimes even that method doesn't get my interest back. Then I DNF...ugh.

Rosina | 1714 comments I will keep The Enchantment Emporium by Tanya Huff as my selection.

Michelle (michelle_mc) | 2158 comments Are you enjoying it Katie?

message 333: by Jade aka MrsTosh (new)

Jade aka MrsTosh (mrstosh) I have had the same problem with Tanya Huff, I loved The Alpha & Omega Series and the Vicki Nelson books, but no matter how many times I tried to get into Smoke and Mirrors I ended up bitterly dissapointed and ended up re-shelfing the books :( which I hate doing!

message 334: by Katie (new)

Katie (kahneks) | 98 comments Is the Alpha/Omega series a stand alone series or a spinoff?

I am enjoying it so far. I was told to look forward to a certain car scene with Chess and Terrible. So....Chess and Terrible have taken a few car rides together, but no sparks yet. So, I have been on pins and needles everytime they go near the vehicle!!!! LOL The story is a more developed in this one which makes for great suspense while I am waiting for one of the two main characters to offer the other an olive branch.

message 335: by Jade aka MrsTosh (new)

Jade aka MrsTosh (mrstosh) A stand alone series, I loved it!

message 336: by Michelle (new)

I have Lover Reborn (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #10) by J.R. Ward in my hands and I'm in need of some serious happy! I have no kids so hoping I get this read quick and I'll finish Sabina tomorrow.

I hope you understand... It's Tohr after all ;)

message 340: by Katie (new)

Katie (kahneks) | 98 comments I understand your love...my love this week was the hunger games movie premier, I went two nights in a row and now I am paying dearly, I will catch up quick!

message 341: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michelle_mc) | 2158 comments I had to put Tohr down for a bit, Hubby took me for a meal and then we went to see Hunger Games, I loved it. Very close to the book. I was an emotional wreck when I got home and finished Tohr's book. Going to do a little shopping just now before I pick the kids up.

message 342: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michelle_mc) | 2158 comments I'll finish Sabina when I get back. It's old firm game today so Hubby will be watching the game, i'll pick my book then too. I'm hoping By a Thread is on the shelf. I need some Gin & Owen :)

Rosina | 1714 comments The Enchantment Emporium by Tanya Huff
3 stars magic shelf 24/03/12

This was a hard one for me to rate. Finally settled on 3 stars. Overall I enjoyed The Enchantment Emporium. I found the characters fun and interesting and the situation fairly original. She has a great sense of humor and writes her characters with effortless dialog.

Now for why I took points away from the rating. I was slightly disappointed in The Enchantment Emporium. It's a good story, but I kept feeling that I was reading the second book in a series; that I had missed a couple chapters of character explanation. Had there been a short story I hadn't known about? NOTHING about the world is explained.

Might read the next one and i will probably read her other UF series.
