Oh my freaking gosh! Book one (A Brush of Darkness) was wonderful but I enjoyed A Sliver of Shadow even more! We are introduced to Tresa who tries to trick Abby into becoming her touchstone and when she fails she casts a spell that backfires in a huge way causing the Faery Queen to think war had broken out and she closed the crossroads leaving many stranded and possibly dying.
So on top of taking care of Benjamin, keeping the peace amongst her suitors, running a business, and trying to make sense of being a touchstone Abby now has added this to her plate. But the fun doesn't stop here folks because Abby also begins to discover things about her past and family and let me tell you I was thrown for a loop!
I feel like A Brush of Darkness kinda just introduced us to a few of the key players in this awesome story but A Sliver of Shadow tossed us right into the action and doesn't give us a moment to catch our breath before tossing more upon us! I am practically bouncing off the walls in wait for A Trace of Moonlight which will be out in October. Oh boy oh boy oh boy that sounds like a long time away! More Phin please!

It has been a real pleasure reading with everyone on this game. I hope we get to do this again soon.

I really enjoyed this series starter. I've read Jennifer Ashley's historical romances but this is the first I've read of her paranormal/UF books as Allyson James. Like many first series books it took a little while to find its feet but once it got going I was totally wrapped up in Janet, her battles with her magic and her legacy and the relationship with Mick. While I've seen others comment that they don't really like Nash I thought he was a breath of fresh air. I think too often in UF people are too easily accepting of vampires, shifters, magic, whatever, when they are first exposed to it. I think if it happened in real life a lot of people would be like Nash and just believe "all of you are crazy". I'm very much looking forward to continuing the series.

This was a fun relaxed read. A brief break from my vampies and weres. My biggest regret is not reading it around Christmas but oh well it has collected dust on my shelf long enough!
I must say I don't think I have ever read anything quite like this and the idea of leaving a notebook of challenges back n forth between any two people intrigues me kinda like a scavenger hunt in some ways. With that said although it was a fun read and I loved the premise I just can't see two teenagers talking or carrying on in this way. It just feels like something more that college kids or folks a bit older would do.
The characters played well against each other with Lily being so naive and reckless to Dash's bah humbug attitude but surprisingly the only thing I could find likable about Lily was she loved books and Christmas! As a main character she just was not stand outish enough and it took the background charcters like her gay brother and her medling aunt to even make her visable for me.
All in all it was a quick, light young adult romance that would be a terrific read anytime but especially a super holiday read!

Although the writing is good, it felt like it was all loose ends and no wrap up at all. Although I knew it was the first of a trilogy, it felt as if she just reached a certain number of pages and stopped, rather than having found a truly natural break in the story line. With that being said, I like the main character, Maya and her friends and family. The small town she lived in that all belonged to the drug corporation was almost a character in and of itself! I also liked the way the setting felt real and important to the story. The combination of shifter-ness and genetic manipulation was interesting, too. I think I will probably try to read more of this trilogy just to see what happens, but I was disappointed that this book felt like almost all set-up and not enough story.
-Thank you all for being great teammates! I've had a blast!

Well in this book the mystical creature are undead who are not vampire, but they call themselves with joke zombies and they are the most friendliest zombis ever, i think :) They dont wanna eat you, but save your life. As usual the girl falls in love with the undead guy and then theres some drama about the relationship. There is also a bad guy who is messing with Kate's sister and theres some drama about it.

It's been great fun reading with you all. As usual I cleaned up some of my TBR and added to it as well. It never really goes down. :)
Hope to see you all for Round 5!
