I have, over the years, edited and combined Kindle editions with other editions - could that be the reason?

Yes. When you edit any of the data fields (title, author, num of pages), you become the source for the information. For all of my friends books that I have rescued using Worldcat, my name is listed as the source, even though I provided the Worldcat URL.

Nope, no worries. Since you performed the edits, you are the "source" for the info now, not Amazon (which may save a few of them). :)
