We don't merge different language authors, where books have been translated then the roman author name goes in primary author position with the transliterated name in the secondary author position

This allows for searches on the transliterated name

Excuse me Paula, but I don't understand. For example, we have Haruki Murakami. There is only one profile of him - in English (Roman).

But Gregory David Roberts, for example - there are 2 profiles of him - in English and in Russian. I think there should be only one existing - in English, right? Because he is not a Russian author.

The reason why Haruki Murakami only has an English profile is that no one has created another one for him.

If an author has there books translated in to other languages it is acceptable to have a profile in the other language.

The name of the author in the first author position must be in English where books have been translated in to English.

Where a English book has been translated in to Russian it is fine to enter the book details in Russian and the author name in Russian but the Russian author name must be in the second position.

The first author name on all the editions has to be the same to allow the editions to be combined

P.S. By the way, in one of your summer posts you mentioned Anton Chekhov. But there is no hyperlink from English profile (http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/...) to the Russian (http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/...).
