When she was sure he was gone, Mara shifted and stumbled over to the pair, holding her ribs carefully.

"Darn fool broke my ribs." She then saw the knife. "Aw, sweetie..." The Beta wolf knelt by her side.

Haru looked at her, feeling the blood trickle down her side >It really hurts< she whimpered

Mara laid her hands around the cut, she closed her eyes, studying the wound. "Pull it out, carefully." She told Somer. He obliged and when the blade was clear Mara held the edges of the wound together.

Haru whined as she felt it come out

"Stay with me, sweetie." Mara added more pressure, trying to stop the bleeding.

Harus eyelids started to droop, she suddenly felt so tired...she tried to stay awake, but she wanted so much to escape the pain

"No!" Mara smacked the wolf. "Shift, sweetie. Human then wolf, then human, then wolf and finally human."

Haru whimpered, but shifted as she said. when she turned to human, she cried out in pain

Mara gingerly pulled her hand back. The number of shifts Haru had done had turned the open wound into a scabbed over cut.

Haru leaned against a nearby tree and drifted off to sleep

Somer held her in his arms, chin resting on her shoulder.

"Who are you?" Mara asked, still moving gingerly.

"My name is Somer."

"You care about her.."

"Yes."

Haru moved in her sleep and placed a possesive hand on his leg

"What can we do?"

"If you're careful you could get her back to our pack and our healer could check her out. She should be okay to travel on her own."

Haru shifted a little and made a small whimpering sound

"Will you be okay?" Mara nodded and limped off. "Haru, sweetie?"

Haru opened her eyes slowly and looked up at Somer "hmm?"

"I'm so sorry I didn't get here sooner."

She sat up with a wince and said "its...not your fault. I wouldnt listen to you and stay"

"Mara says that we can take you home."

"oh? alright, i suppose i should go back" she said, starting to get to her feet.

Somer was right there by her side, helping her to stand.

She leaned against him greatfully and flashed him a small smile.

"I think I could carry you, but you ran a long way."

"I'll walk as far as i can" she replied, making a face

"Why does it hurt so badly? When I caught a glimpse of it, it looked on the way to healing."

"My insides feel weird. maybe the shifting only healed the outer wound" she murmered

She shrugged "I dont know....maybe it had something to do with the blade? he might have put some kind of spell on it."
