Angela - you are welcome - glad to help.
Ann - Jeane is correct I had said that only books started after Dec 1 count towards the challenge - but I will amend this (I think did this in the summer challenge) to say that if you have more than 50% of the book you are reading prior to December 1st left to finish you can count it for the challenge.
Kathryn - As long as you read book two followed by book three not like book 5 then book 8 (i.e. you read them in order) it will count.
Melody - no problems - it wasn't that big of a stretch to include it with the other words.
P.S. I updated the rules to reflect some of the questions we've had so far in this challenge and based on things that came up in the fall challenge.

Thank you Cynthia!!

For the read book and it's sequel, can we read the book before December the 1st and THEN the sequel or do you have to read both together?

1. How are we keeping track? Should I post it as I go along or do a big list at the end?
2. As far as the sequel is concerned, do series count?
3. I tried checking out the link to the dead authors, but it's not coming up. Any suggestions? I will try the infinite wisdom of Google in the meantime.

1. Most people post as they go along - you can check out the fall challenge post to get an idea - I post a leader board at the top or near the top of each page.
2. Series count as long as the books are read in order and back to back.
3. I'll fix the link - wasn't aware it was messed up.

Read a book where the main character has the same job as you.
I am a shift supervisor at a chain pharmacy. My job titles are: shift supervisor, cashier, pharmacy tech.
Does anyone have any suggestions at all???
Also... do the 25 point challenges come out tomorrow?

Darla, I think you'd definitely have more luck with a cashier book.

If I would decide to read a book about a character with the same job, it would be funny: unemployed! Not that I am unemployed but I was wondering about the story if the character would be unemployed...

Bitter is the New Black : Confessions of a Condescending, Egomaniacal, Self-Centered Smartass, Or, Why You Should Never Carry A Prada Bag to the Unemployment Office

Tasks Completed: 4/33
Total Points Earned:65

For the employment task - If you are unemployed you may pick a book about someone who is unemployed or someone who has the job you previously did before becoming unemployed.
If you have a specific job like Darla or Melissa - you may be more general - i.e. for Darla anyone who works in a pharmacy would work (If you haven't already read Adriana Trigianni's Big Stone Gap series - the main charachter owns and runs a pharmacy) or in Melissa's case - someone who works for the government would be acceptable.
I'll post the 25 point challenges as soon as I get them from the winner's of the fall challenge - hopefully sometime tomorrow.

I was wondering if Animal Farm by George Orwell will count for the 'politics' book?

Sera - no you can a book with January in the title in February and visa verse.
Melissa - no problems - I don't want to prohibit people from completing a task by being too technical.
Karen - I'll accept Animal Farm for that - not exactly what I had in mind but it will fit. Oh and I'm jealous it's summer there - I'm freezing now.

I am a licensed respiratory therapist, but I start a new job tomorrow as "Simulation Educator"
I enjoy books with a medical theme, but don't think I'd find ones with an RT as a main (or even minor) character. I did read a book once where they mentioned the respiratory therapist...
I just assume that's one I can't fulfill--unless I get broader (I am a PT faculty at a university, and have a MS degree in adult education, so maybe a teacher or college faculty.....??? I'm kinda stretching, but...)
Melissa, considering there's no one else (practically) in the world with your job, chances are no one has written a book about how exciting it is to be you...
