the hobbit is being made into a major motion picture movie. i would like input on what you think.

i'm REALLY excited about it. from what i've seen so far, it looks very promising!

I am sooooo excited to see the movie version of The Hobbit! This is one of my favorite books :) While I normally say that the book is always better than the movie it inspires, I still think a proper interpretation of a book can result in a really awesome movie. I have a really good feeling about this one.

i read the hobbit before i read the rings... i thought it was fantastic, and looking forward to the film
jackson is producing it but who's directing?

I just read the Hobbit so Im very excited about the upcoming movie. Lord of the Rings was a wonderful set of films and I look forward to see how Peter Jackson goes with the Hobbit..

I'm really excited about the whole thing. I'm a bit worried that Jackson seems to be casting big and established stars this time around compared to LOTR but it DOES look good. Also, not sure about Frodo Baggins being in it when he wasn't even born... How many other liberties has Jackson taken?

Hell yeh! It's by Peter Jackson, it has to be good.

I am SO excited for this movie!! It's coming out this year around Christmas time, and the second part the year after around the same time. Also, why would Aragorn and Arwen be in the movie?

The trailer gives me goosebumps. The singing dwarves is epic! I cannot wait to see it in Imax!!

I totally agree with you, they did a awesome job on the Lord of the Rings saga, but the hobbit is written by Tolkein in a totally different style. They are going to have to try reallly hard if they want it to measure up to the book!
i also am concerned with how in the world their going to squeeze in Orlando Bloom as Legalos. Their just going to make a bad mess of the magic in Middle Earth!!
I'm going to go see it though because i think they picked a good person to play Bilbo.

I enjoyed The Hobbit more than LotR so I'm really excited. :) It's definently one of the only things I'm looking forward to right now.

Linda, yes, there will be two films, and enough materials as they using stories from the Silmarillion to fill the gap between the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings.

The Hobbit is going to be made into 2 movies, the first I think is being released around Christmas 2012 and I can't wait! They did such a good job with the film versions of The Lord of the Rings that I can't wait to see these!

I do still have a spot in my heart for the Rankin Bass version of The Hobbit (even if it was animated and they went on to completely butcher the portion of Lord of the Rings they brought to the big screen). *crosses fingers* hopes they bring same respect for Tolkien's vision to the Hobbit movie as was done for Lord of The Rings (the only complain I had with LOTR was how Merry and Pippin in movie version were "forced" along the adventure versus arranging things to protect Frodo and go along, leaving out Bombadil adn the Bree farmers and generally all the hobbits being wussier up until Frodo leaves the Shire--but then the movies took off and did very, very well at adapting the books)

Hobbitmoviecouk I agree, the Rankin Bass version of the hobbit was great.
I do remember watching LOTR movies and I also was a bit annoyed that Tom Bombadil and the Bre

Movies from books like this scare me a bit. They might be good enough or very disappointing...Never great though...

I'm excited. The Lord of the Rings movies were amazing, and The Hobbit seems to be too. Also I am glad they have made Gloin look like Gimli.

Is The Hobbit really going to be made into two movies? I hadn't heard that. I have to say I'm not quite sure if that is such a great idea. Don't think there will be enough material. Mind you if they have the chapter about the spiders in the movie it's going to be interesting. Eeep! :)

I just got done with reading the Hobbit and I thought it was a amazing book I also have seen trailers for the move see below, but the Hobbit being a major motion picture movie I think yes it will be a big move I am very excited for the move, but that is what I think it is all up to how the producers will make the movie

I think it's going to be brilliant. The 3D is done properly from the start, with on-the-fly depth adjustments via twin cameras - it's amazing.

This is my favourite novel of the LotR so they had better not mess it up!

I can't WAIT see Martin Freeman as Bilbo and hear Benedict Cumberbatch as Smaug. (SCREAM.) Though that might have to come in the second part I think?

i had to read the Hobbit for year 10 Literature last year, i found the book to be kind of dull, but i liked the descrpitivness of it. I have seen the Lord of the Rings movie's and they were wondrous, really good. So i am looking forward to the Hobbit

The stills and videos from the set give me high hopes for the finished films. I'm curious what they will use as the breaking point in the first movie and glad there will only be a year wait between the two.

I can watch the LotR trilogy over and over, so I think I can trust Jackson to do an equally great job on these.

We have the LOTR movies to reassure us that Jackson will probably do a great job translating the Hobbit into...two movies? That part is strange, but it does provide a great opportunity to show some of the peripheral things going on around the events of the Hobbit. I absolutely love that we will get to see things like Radagast and Gandalf's trip to Dol Guldur. All this will tie it to the LOTR in a manner that, I would say, Tolkien would like.

I can't wait!

Martin Freeman is perfect for Bilbo!

I really liked the book, it is your introduction to the Lord of the rings.I am looking forward to the movie. I do believe it has been written in cartoon format.

I love the book, so was very excited to hear about a movie. However, the trailer does not sell it to me at all! It looks very bad imo :(

Really looking forward to this. The Hobbit is a bit more light-hearted than The Lord Of The Rings and should make for a fantastic film!

It looks promising to me. I'm especially excited because I have read The Hobbit all the way through, unlike other novels. The dwarves look amazing, and the music is so beautiful...

If the movie is like the lord of the rings, then i guess that the hobbit movie would be the must fro 2012.
