Kindle Reboot Issues...spontaneous reboot - anyone know why??

Some people get this problem others don't.

Since I installed the new cover I've had no problems.

I called CS again and explained the situation, at first they wanted to replace my kindle again, but then they agreed to replace my cover. I've been using this cover for 2 months now, and no reboot.
On this model that I received they have changed the hooks that attach on the device, the old one use to be a metal painted in black, on the new one the hooks are not painted and have a cooperish color.

However I think by 2011 January or February, there was a software update for the Kindle, and after I ran the update I have had no more such rebooting problems.
I later changed to a slip in cover in 2011 August, still no reboot problems. But I think any new Kindles bought now would have had the software updated as well, so maybe it's some other issue...

How..."
So after the update when you had no more problems, were you still using the original cover? I am wondering if I could go back to using the cover it originally came with?

Yeah, if I'm not mistaken, after the software update, i still used the original cover for 6 months or so, no problems after that.
Like Bonix says, i think the problem depends whether it is the device itself or the accessories. I'm glad my problem resolved itself with a software update.

I have a Kindle 3 that is about a year old. I have noticed in the last few months that it will spontaneously reboot itself 2 or 3 times a week. I'm also having trouble with it freezing quite a bit, and in that case I have to force a reboot.
The biggest problem is that when it happens the process is incredibly slow. It can sometimes take up to an hour!! I do have a lot of books, but an hour?!
Is anyone or has anyone experienced similar issues? Do any of you have a solution?
