Done ^.^
Could someone please add a cover to the book below?http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13...
The cover is the same as the ebook version which is listed also.
Thanks inadvance!
I successfully added a cover to one of my existing books, but now I can't find how I did it, and I have more scanned images waiting to be attached to their books. I must be missing something obvious - please advise!
when you go into editing book, on the right you have link to upload a photo, browse and find it in your computer and save changes.
My book, The Toy Sorcerer, had a cover image last week, but since the Amazon feed has gone, the image is no longer showing. I can't work out how to upload one from my PC database via my author profile page. Help, please!http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13...
You can send me the picture, and I will upload it for you. I don't really know how do uploads work for authors.
Iluzija wrote: "when you go into editing book, on the right you have link to upload a photo, browse and find it in your computer and save changes."Thanks Iluzija - have just 'rescued' the title and the image is now back. Cheers.
Laura
I can't seem to get a cover upload link for this book, http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/70... , although I did for the first one I tried,http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/75...
it is there, click on edit details and it is on the right side. But how do you know it is the right edition of the book, there is no ISBN or publication details.
Okay, I went in and edited the information - added isbn and cover - now there are two listings of the same book; the Amazon listing with its reviews and my 'rescued' insertion with no ratings or reviews! So, I need to delete the duplicate. Good thing I'm not a librarian, eh?How does one delete the duplicate without deleting the entire listing?
you need to separate books from everything else, combine them with each other and then delete one of the books that is not to be kept. it will transfer everything to the other edition. you can delete book if it has less than 5 ratings, I think, or give it to super-librarian.
Iluzija wrote: "it is there, click on edit details and it is on the right side. But how do you know it is the right edition of the book, there is no ISBN or publication details."Hi Iluzija - I've now added the ISBN, description etc to the Amazon imported listing, which is on the Kindle edition. The second listing is with the paperback ISBN which doesn't have any reviews as it's only just available - however it's the same book . . . Is it prudent to delete one of the listings? Not sure of the form
I'm not an author so they are not my books however I noticed a few books on my TBR list lost their covers http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/94... <-- yet the other covers are there just not for the hard cover and it was http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13... <--- the summery for this one as well as the cover went poof however they may be making a new cover so thats not as big a deal as the missing summery that was there
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/11... <--- missing its cover
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/11... <---- missing it's cover and summery
Now I get that some books just don't have covers or summaries yet however these did and some are even out and have been for a while and it annoys me to see them good poof out of the blue like that
no, no deleting books that have different ISBNs, only same books get deleted, 2 ISBNs are 2 books. Give it time, people will rate it. Only combine them.
Iluzija wrote: "no, no deleting books that have different ISBNs, only same books get deleted, 2 ISBNs are 2 books. Give it time, people will rate it. My post is the answer to Laura's. I don't know what to tell you about summaries other than get them again. They were imported from Amazon and they were deleted. Maybe they will import them again from some other place, maybe not. If you want them, go to library and write them again.
Could someone please add this cover image (http://www.worldcat.org/title/4-perce...) to this edition of the book (http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/11...) please? Thanks!
Two of the books I reviewed lost their covers and wonder if you could replace them. I have cover art on my website, Christians Read: Books Review. Those two books are Beyond the Farthest Star by Bodie and Brock Thoene and Sentenced to Life by Kay Baker. Also the cover to my book disappeared. Please find that cover at One Touch from the Maker
Thank you.
Could someonep lease add an an alternate cover for this book?http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/97...
The picture can be found here:

(It's the picture of the February 2012 UK paperback with pink flowers!)
If you need more information, please let me know!
Thanks inadvance!
Adding an *alternate cover* means adding a new edition of a book with that alternate cover. Could you explain more carefully, Kouk, what needs to be done?
Well, i wanted to add a book with picture but the Isbn was already there with a previous edition. My edition came out this month.
I hope you understand?
Then you add the book without the ISBN and a librarian should make a librarian note (or you can add the note to the description too) of it that it is an alternate cover edition of ISBN xxxx. But I understand there wasn't already cover pic for the edition you linked? And because only cover I see with the same ISBN is the one you wanted it shouldn't be a problem to add that, so I did.
Sorry for the long rant, lol!
The ocver of the book below vanished.Could someone please put the picture of the link below up for this book?

If so, that would make them more along the lines of Goodreads than a bookseller; wouldn't it?

IIRC, they get much of their data from Amazon, and therefore we can't use it, as it is considered an "Amazon derivative".

"Not arguing, just confused and trying to understand the reasoning - why can't "Amazon derivatives" be used? I understand that they get their information from Amazon. But they themselves are not Amazon and it would seem that once they've made the information public, they become the source for the information and not Amazon itself. I guess what I'm saying is that I see it as being a situation similar to what occurs when we ask someone to provide the information for a new book. For all we know, the information they provide may come straight from Amazon; yet we can use it because we (the librarians) got it from here and not Amazon itself. What difference am I missing?
Could you please add a cover and publishing date of Sept 2012 to When Magic Fails by Alaina StanfordWhen Magic FailsAnd a publishing date of Sept 2012 for Hypnotic Journey Forbidden Quest by Alaina Stanford Hypnotic Journey Forbidden Quest
There are also two other books by Alaina Stanford Alaina StanfordAs Darkness Falls which is Book Three of the above series and Tempest Rise which is book one of the Treborel Scifi series.

That doesn't help. LibraryThing is not an ok source either.
Only publishers and authors have the right to distribute their cover images; libraries are more complex, but generally ok. Most other sites are not, as a general rules of thumb.

I always dislike it, if people when they add a book to the database don't include a picture.
That's why i ask here!
