Hi Marc, all the best and good reading.

I am always seeking new female fantasy authors, so any recommendations are appreciated!

But you did manage to point out that you're an author as you've done several times before. Please stop doing this. This club is for readers, not writers.

:)
Randall Garrett is not often mentioned. I like the series he wrote with his wife.
I believe, she may have written much of it, as he passed away before it was finished.
The Gandalara Cycle I and The Gandalara Cycle II
They are mostly considered Sci-fi, but I think they have enough fantasy elements for fans of the fantasy genre.
:)
Hola all! Newcomer, just stumbled on the group. Name's Rabindranauth, avid fantasy reader, one true love's definitely epic fantasy. But I'm an eclectic reader, I read everything from thrillers to classics to historical fiction also. Can blame my parents for that. Looking forward to discussing books! Never enough of those >_>

Shona, there are several great Aussie female writers. Have you tried Glenda Larke, Jennifer Fallon, Karen Miller (who also writes as K.E. Mills), and Trudi Canavan? They all have big backlists, so plenty to keep you going if you haven't read them yet.

I have read Karen Miller and Trudi Canavan before, but the other two are new to me! :D Thank you, I'll be looking into them.

My mother is super into Randall Garrett's Lord Darcy series and I've read them all multiple times! I didn't realize he had written sci-fi with his wife, so that's very exciting. I'll have to see if my mother has it already squirreled away somewhere.

Looking forward to getting to know y'all and the opportunity to read some great books =).

I grew up with a wide range of books and authors including Roald Dahl, which were read to my sister and myself by our grandmother. But I never really got into reading until I was about 11 years old, and that was also when i first got into fantasy books. I haven't read as many fantasy books as I would like, and those that I have were mostly books from Wattpad.
my favourite authors include, Tamora Pierce, John Flanagan, and Robin Hobb.
So... Yeah, that's me... Ish, I also enjoy writing!

I'm Brazilian, from a city called São José do Rio Preto. I'm 22 (23 in 12 days) and reading since 11. I like to think I'm open to all kinds of genres, but Fantasy is a personal favorite.
I also write. A bit. I try.

I read pretty much everything but Fantasy is by far my favorite. I read Lord of the Rings in 5th grade and still have never stopped loving that world. I also love the Shadowmarch and A Song of Fire and Ice series.
I'm really looking forward to meeting you all :D

*Because believe me, at 16 in a country that doesn't have English as a first or even second language, and in a culture that deems reading--especially novels--alien, it's literally impossible to share such love of literature... But thanks to Goodreads and the 'net, I guess I don't have to be a lone wolf anymore! ^^ Thanks for welcoming me into the pack! =D

Welcome all!
I seem to have become unattached from my notifications.....

Hello fellow fantasy lovers, my name is Brittany and I am Montana born, residing in Texas.
My favorite fantasy writers include
Jacqueline Carey
Terry Goodkind
Sara Douglass
Kelley Armstrong
Rachel Caine
George R R Martin
Juliet Marillier
Anne Bishop
Just to name a few
As far as series are concerned I LOVE
Kushiel's Dart Kushiel Series
Bitten Women of the Otherworld
Weather Warden Collection
Complete Sword of Truth Series
The Black Jewels Trilogy: Daughter of the Blood, Heir to the Shadows, Queen of the Darkness
A Song of Ice and Fire #1-4: A Game of Thrones/A Clash of Kings/A Storm of Swords/A Feast for Crows
For a few examples

I also love the Black Jewels series!

Though I've read a lot of fantasy, it's mostly been young adult fantasy. Of the more "grown up" books I've read, I love, love, love the entire Dark Tower series by King as well as the ever-popular A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R.R. Martin.
I'm currently reading The Way of Kings by Sanderson. I just discovered the book and because it's pretty lengthy, wasn't done in time to read the second book this month. I'm only 31% of the way through the first book so far. I often end up reading a few books at a time and switch between them, especially when one is long, so I plan on reading The Mists of Avalon next month. It's been on my to-read list for years, so this is a good excuse to finally read it.
Cheers,
Lissa B
