Yvonne Danko I really thought he was going to live. I cant explain why, but i thought he was! I was reading it for my literature class, and a boy thought that we were discussing about the chapter when Johny dies. (when we were on the chapter before the death happened.)

ღஐKendraღஐ Well,as much as I wanted him to live deep inside I knew he wasn't going to live. The injures were to severe and even if he did survive he would be in a wheel chair the rest of life. So if he did he would hate his life even more because he wouldn't be able to play football,no more rumbles, and would be stuck in his parents house (where they abused him). So ya I just knew he wouldn't live I was kinda glad because if he did his life would be horrible.

Yvonne Danko yes, you are right, his life wouldnt be good if he lived.

ღஐKendraღஐ :) Ya so if he died I would feel terrible for him! So I think it all fit together has it should.

Dee no, and when he did die I cried my eyes out. This used to be my favorite book like four years ago, it's what got me into reading. I'll always love The Outsider's :)

Samuel Finley I knew he wasn't going to live. I just expected it, y'know? Besides, his death helped move the story along even more, making everything else that much more important.

I thought he would die. I was expecting it so I wasn't caught by surprise if he did and I didn't prepare myself for it. xD

Kea Alwang When I read this book years and years ago for the first time, I thought he would live. It's one of my favorite books and I read it over and over again ... crying through the first three times!

Isaac Casino I thought he was gonna live it seemed like it but at the end he didn't very sad.

Laura Pacheco I honestly didnt think he was going to live . I wished he did but sadly he didnt .

Laura This was probably one of the first books I read where a kid dies. It surprised and shocked me.

Kate Kid I thought he would live but later I knew he would die... It was horrible. He died a hero.

Emma Mecham As much as I wanted him to live. I knew that he wouldn't. He was in such critical condition and in so much pain. personally I wouldn't want to live if I got that seriously burned.

Shelbie Kellum I knew he was going to die. Can't explain it. I hoped otherwise though :(

Ella I had a gut feeling that he wasn't going to make it. Turns out I was right. I didn't want him to die, but I knew deep down that it was going to happen and I can't ignore my gut feelings. It was so sad, but it made the story heroic.

I knew he wouldn`t live. Not only a piece of burning wood fall on his back, he was in such critical condition in the hospital.

Arden no. cause if he lived his life would've sucked worse than it already did...he was meant to die

message 25: by Kaley Jo (new)

Kaley Jo Honestly, it's the idealist in me that told me he would. Then, a little before the rumble, the realist side of me won over, but for a while there I had no idea that she would kill him. I am glad she did, not because I didn't like him (do it for Johnny!) but because it made everything seem more realistic and deep.
