I think Cassandra Clare is trying to make us think one way, and I definitely don't think it's a spoiler. Honestly, I think she's trying to trick us

I agree! Tessa just CAN'T end up alone! And if she and Will got together than she would be related to Jace but can Shadowhunters and Warlocks be together? Because we're not sure that she's a warlock!
This can't be a spoiler! Because all the scenarios don't make sense at ALL... *cry* Why is this soo hard?

*Book Euphoria * Hey you guys, I was thinking about how Tessa could still be alive after all those years and alot of people say shes immortal, and then I remember reading that she could be a warlock ( its been a while since I've read Clockwork Angel ) but the first thing that came to mind when I found out that the girl Magnus was talking to in COG could've been Tessa, was Time travel, I know it sounds weird but this is a paranormal series, and in the TMI and ID series anything is possible. What if time travel is possible here? Makes You wonder huh, but of course Tessa could be a Warlock, Vampire or any other paranormal being that could live for ever,,, hmmmm how about an Angel, ????? I Just thought of that :)

Paige Or Tessa could be a ghost. I mean, Will could talk to that six-fingered person that he go all those ingredience from, and she was a ghost right?
But don't count out time travel - magic and clockwork creations could result in some pretty cool things :P

Lalala*Saredo* Wait i don't get it how do you know that was tessa in CoG and how does she see Tessa isn't Clockwork angel set in 1500's or something??????

Christian Saredo wrote: "Wait i don't get it how do you know that was tessa in CoG and how does she see Tessa isn't Clockwork angel set in 1500's or something??????"

Yeah, she lives during Victorian times, mid to late 1800's. And the reason we know it is Tessa is because Cassandra Clare has said as much on Twitter and in interviews and also, there was short story at the end of the US (as far as I know) Clockwork Angel paperback called Magnus' Vow and it takes place right after the party and the other's go back looking for Simon. Magnus reminisces about the past and the hard time an immortal, like a warlock, has with loving mortals. And he specifically thinks about Tessa and her troubles, although no hints were given as to which direction she ends up going in the Will/Jem issue.

★ Mist ☆ Cassidy ★ In Clockwork Prince when Tessa is at the masquerade at the Lightwood's manner, there's a faerie who starts talking to her. Doesn't this fairy say she is infact immortal? Or did I just dream this up, since I don't have the book with me (:

Louisa Guys you defo need to read this if you haven't already :D http://cassandraclare.tumblr.com/post...

Marie Gonzalez Louizzza wrote: "Guys you defo need to read this if you haven't already :D http://cassandraclare.tumblr.com/post..."
Haha ya ikr! I started crying until that little important detail at the end...lol

Christian I sort of freaked for a second, before I got to the bottom and saw the advisory to read the tags. I started doubting when I got to the part about the cat food. Starting thinking differently about it.

Lalala*Saredo* Louizzza wrote: "Guys you defo need to read this if you haven't already :D http://cassandraclare.tumblr.com/post..."

It was a april fools joke or not i read the tags but is that true........

Hannah when i read it i was nope so not true then i read the bottom and felt so releived lol

Me too, i don't remember Tessa showing up in COG...i need to re-read the epilogue..

Hannah It's very hidden towards the back and there isn't an actual reference that it's Tessa but cassandra Clare told us that it was her without giving us any explanations I might add lol

Nah its not true, was for april fools but I thought it was relevant to this topic haha (:
I knew it wasn't true 'cause I knew she'd never reveal that much online :p

Gauri I really don't remember that !!! But I shall re-read CoG !!!

Kelechi WOW!

Bloody Brilliant Books I think that Charlotte adopts Tessa so she can live in the institute and because she had no family. It think also that she isn't a warlock as there is no point in them disputing it in the book otherwise. This means that she can have children and I think that's she'd name them Fairchild after Charlotte. This Clary her decendant and she seams familiar because of family reaemblance. Also we know there is a spoiler in the ancestry of the MI characters because this is why Clare won't give us a family tree. Perhaps this is why. It also explains why Joyceyln chose Fray

Hannah L So I have read all the books, so far, and I have a few theories of my own. An obvious question that no one seems to ask. Why was Tessa in Idris an what was she telling Magnus. Here's my theory... in CoG, there is the big battle and Downworlders and Shadowhunters unite, so to speak. Then, the coucel has a representative for each Downworlders. Magnus does not represent the Warlocks. Maybe Tessa did.... and for those who believe she is a faerie, who knows? Also, my friend seems to think she's a vampire even though it's not possible. Simon did say it wasn't Raphael but he didn't know who it was.

message 70: by Karla (last edited May 20, 2012 12:29PM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Karla Tessa traveled to the future to ask magnus for a spell.

Also Magnus takes away someone's immortality, I think that he takes away Tessa's immortality, she also can have kids and marries will.

Jem becomes a silent brother.

Or perhaps. Jem dies, will becomes a silent brother and Tessa lives forever.

Whatever way cc writes it can't wait for the final books from both sets of books. Want to see the family tree...

Clary recognizes Tessa because Tessa travelled into the future and visited clary when Magnus was wiping her mind...

★ Mist ☆ Cassidy ★ Now that I've read COLS, I'm guessing Clary recgonized Tessa because Tessa was the one to do her birth-safety ceremony thing

Amanda Brown What about the blue fairy, who knew Tessa's mother, from the Lightwood's party? She told Tessa they were both immortal, could Tessa be part fairy? And could she be Starkweather's child? He was making sure she wasn't hurt at the end of Clockwork Prince... And his daughter died when she was young, could a fairy have switched her sickly child for a healthier one?

message 73: by Lina (last edited Jun 30, 2012 06:02PM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Lina Day I don't think Tessa is a Warlock. I think that she is half shadowhunter half demon. Maybe Tessa's mom fell for a shadowhunter, and became a shadowhunter so they could get marred, but maybe a demon tricked her mother to think he was her husband (like what happen with Magnus) And what-his-face (the bad guy, I always forget his name) helped them make her live? (As long as he gets her shifting powers, which also enplanes why they were in hiding) Anyways, Clary saw Clockwork Angel in the library in City of Lost Souls, and I don't think Tessa would let go of him willingly. And I don't think Will or Jem are Brother Z, because everyone thinks its one of them, so Clare will have him be someone unexpected(That's what I would do).

Amanda Brown Karla wrote: "Tessa traveled to the future to ask magnus for a spell.

I agree that one becomes a silent brother and I believe it is Will. I think Tessa will stay with Jim and Will will not want anyone else. Also Tessa was outside the city of bones in one of the mortal instrument books she gave Clary a message about Jocelyn-but I think Tessa was there visiting Will...or maybe Jem.

message 75: by Jennifer (last edited Jun 14, 2012 10:13AM) (new) - added it

Jennifer Could it be possible that the only way for Jem to be cured of his illness is to become a Silent Brother? Wouldn't Will have had to have a child to continue the Herondale name so that Jace could be born down the line? Jocelyn says that a female warlock was there when Clary's birth protection ritual was performed. Maybe Tessa is a warlock but because she has no marks and possibly has shadowhunter blood she can bear children.

Jessica Here's is a possibility. In city of lost souls on pg 79 clary asker her mom if she ever had a ceremony done at birth that protects them, and the silent brothers and iron sisters have to perform it. Jocelyn said that she did and a silent brother and a female warlock who took the place of the iron sister did it. And what gets me is that clary asked who the warlock was but luke called jocelyn so the question never got answered. It could be a possibility that tessa did the ceremony because not only can she change into somebody else but she can touch their thoughts too, like how she did it with camile belcourt at the party in clockwork angel

Jessica I think that will is brother Zachariah, in city of lost souls he was talking about the herondales being fighters and saying that he was close to two people once, I was like omg that's gotta be will lol. But now reading the comments brother Zachariah could be jem. Either way I know brother Zachariah is one of them, it was also mentioned in COLS that he seems more human and remembers his life before brotherhood then any of the other silent brothers.

Ashley has anyone thought about how tessa was probably the female warlock who replaced the iron sisters in clary's shadowhunter ceremony that protects them against corruption from demons(mentioned in cols)

♥ Alexia -Team Malec ♥ Is Tessa in City of Glass?

message 82: by [deleted user] (new)

Cassandra Clare stated that "there’s a reason her (Tessa's) last name is so close to Clary’s false last name, Fray". It is interesting that Clary, who has the ability to create new runes, ones that are not contained within the Gray Book, has such a similar false surname to both Tessa and the Book.

Yasmani She recognize's Tessa because in CoLS Clary asks if the birth ritual was preformed on her and they tell her that Magnus and a Female warlock preformed it on her. Maybe this female warlock was Tessa. Even know we are still not sure if she is a warlock....

Alexandra 'Magnus' Vow' never said that Tessa was a warlock, only that she immortal like him but fated to fall in love with a mortal. I agree that she's something else entirely.

message 86: by J.D. (new) - rated it 5 stars

J.D. Field i don't think she's a warlock, i think she's something they don't know about. the magister made her.

omg never thought of that before

Andrea Renfrow I was under the suspicion that Tessa would turn out to be the angel that the Herondale's get their star birth marks from... it was just a fleeting thought though.

message 89: by Pamela (new)

Pamela Reyna Could it be that will becomes immortal and hey this taught just accured to me amatis said that a herondale ancestor one day saw an angel and he bare a mark and she said that since then all of his children and his defendants have the mark and so mace being the last hetondale has the mark but I don't remember will having a mark in the infernal devices could it Bern will who was the herondale ancestor? And possibly ask the angel idk for immortality?

Davey Kirk Ashley wrote: "has anyone thought about how tessa was probably the female warlock who replaced the iron sisters in clary's shadowhunter ceremony that protects them against corruption from demons(mentioned in cols)"

Yes I have that is defiantly a possible.

THANK YOU for saying that. i just started reading TMI series so i didn't know to read the other one too. i guess i should?

💖 Gabriella 💖 I think that maybe Clary recognizes Tessa maybe because Tessa ends up marring Will and because Will is a Herondale they had kids and it could be possible that Jace is related to them, and that they look alike. At least I'm hoping that Tessa and Will end up together :]

message 93: by Romi (new)

Romi Maybe tessa reveals her identity as church on CoHF because Mortmain helpes Jonathan with his evil plans and she has to do something about it.
Because both mortmain and Jonathan want to finish with shadowhunters. Because if tessa still hides forma mortmain that means he is still alive maybe because he had found the way to be inmortal

I've just started reading ID, I'm on book two now.
Darn, I can't remember Tessa Being mentioned in cOG and COFA. I think I gotta re-read it :)

message 97: by Cris (new)

Cris Lopez Tessa was probably the female warlock who took the place of an Iron Sister when the ritual to protect Shadow Hunter children from being influenced by evil was performed on Clary. Remember, Magnus was telling Clary when the ritual was performed on her as a child and as she was asking who took the place of the Iron sister, they were interrupted, preventing Magnus from answering who it was. I think so too that she will come out in the last MI book.

Michelle Veronica wrote: "Who's Tessa?"

she is the main charter in the Infernal Devices trilogy. it's the prequel to the Mortal Instruments series.
