I love making random flavoured pancakes and giving them to people thinking they are normal :D

message 56: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I added food colouring once to my pancake mix and had pink pancakes :o)

message 57: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments I like pink strawberry pancakes. mmm. my favourite in the summer.

message 58: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments .... I will have ALL YOUR STRAWBERRIES.

I eat about 2 boxes of them a week in the Summer. NOM.

message 59: by Alison (new)

Alison Buck | 1299 comments I used to know someone who came out in a rash if she ate strawberries. Problem was, she loved strawberries.
So, once every summer, she'd book a Monday and Tuesday off work and buy a huge punnet of the loveliest strawberries after work on the preceding Friday. She'd scoff the lot and the rash would have died down by the time she had to come back to work on the Wednesday ;-)

message 60: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments Haha Alison. I do this with Ice Cream. I only ever eat it if I am positive I have the day after to recover.

And I really will Karl. I do love strawberries..mmm.

message 61: by Lorraine (new)

Lorraine Versini (lorraineversini) | 8438 comments I'm the contrary, I'd eat strawberries to the point of getting urticaria, yet strawberry flavoured stuff is eek, especially when it's not actually made with strawbies!

message 62: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments Haha. I shouldn't laugh. Someone I went to school with hated to touch Bananas...

Meat gives me the heebie jeebies when I touch it so I use gloves *odd*

I am the exact opposite!

And so is Lorraine I see. Why is it when you get multipacks of anything, there is ALWAYS a strawberry flavoured one????

Lorraine Versini (lorraineversini) | 8438 comments The worst for me has to be calpol... Just the smell of it makes me gag, how on earth they actually expect kids to take that stuff is beyond me !

Alison Buck | 1299 comments Louise-Lesley (Elle) wrote: "Haha Alison. I do this with Ice Cream. I only ever eat it if I am positive I have the day after to recover..."

LOL
I'm not brave enough to eat something that'd make me poorly.
A gastronomic wus*, I'm afraid ;-)

(*not sure of the spelling there)

message 66: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments When I was a kid I drank a whole bottle of calpol when my Mother turned her head. I still use it when I get a cold now *giant baby*

And Alison, I have too many types of food that upset my stomach to avoid them all so sometimes I just have to take the cramps.

message 67: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I love everything strawberry flavoured whether real strawberries or fake. YUM YUM can't get enough

It's so nice to "meet" such "normal" people who realise it okay to fill your Kindle up with books it'll take ages to get through. Rather than put up with crazies who think you have to read a book before you buy another one!!!!

Emma (emzibah) | 4125 comments Welcome Pauline. Here have a hot beverage of your choice and tell us a bit about you. I am sure D.d will be around soon to ask you some random questions too!!
"normal" is not a word usual associated with us but we'll take it xx

message 89: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments haha. normal.

I'm the only normal one here as you saw at the start of the thread.

*nods*

Hug?

message 90: by Pauline (new)

Pauline Byrne | 26 comments Hi Emma, I'll have tea thanks and you all sound like my type of normal!!!!. I'm an avid book reader and used to have hundreds of books cluttering up the house until I got my Kindle. Actually I got a sony first - before you could get Kindles in the UK but as soon as you could I was front of the queue.

message 91: by Emma (new)

Emma (emzibah) | 4125 comments Here you go - a lovely cuppa.
Yeah gotta love the Kindle for de-cluttering! I do find however that I missed having a bookcase so I have started to scour charity shops for books I have really enjoyed and I order the paperback versions (if available) of my Indie Author friends whose work I have enjoyed - I love having the bookcase as a talking point for recommending etc.
You'll love this forum but don't expect your TBR pile to go down!! So many recommendations!!

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Hiya Pauline!

Yeah, we're a 'type' of normal, all right.

Friend of mine had a Sony. She gave it to her son after she got her kindle. He then promptly e-bayed it. ;)

message 93: by Pauline (new)

Pauline Byrne | 26 comments Slurpppp - lovely!!!
I do still have one bookcase, for books I couldn't part with and some I haven't gotten around to reading yet!!! Also - I'm learning to play the piano - lots more books in the piano music genre, so I've got loads of them. I don't think they'd be too good on the Kindle!!!!

message 94: by Pauline (new)

Pauline Byrne | 26 comments Patti - my OH borrows my Sony. I suppose I could let him keep it but I'm very possessive about my gadgets. Since I've had an iPhone I've my OH borrow my iPod touch!!!! He can use them but they're MINE!!!!

message 95: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I was looking at a kobo reader at Gatwick while I was there and I was surprised how slow the page turning was. I don't know if that is cause it was a display model or not but It didn't incline me towards the kobo's much. (Was just being nosy would never cheat on my kindle that way)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Wow, you actually found a working display model, Jud? All I found over the holiday were empty display boxes and I couldn't be bothered to ask to see one.

I know the feeling, Pauline. I get all twitchy when Dave wants to use my iPad. I bought him his own kindle the day he said he'd just 'share' mine. No way!

message 97: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Yes there was one in Gatwick airport WHSmith and on in the WHSmith bit in Harrods

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Only display boxes at smiths at Bristol and Heathrow airports.
I avoided Harrods at Heathrow again. Last time I spent money there I bought loads of stuff for my mom. When I gave it to her she asked 'what's a Harrod's?'
Makes sense really. Not a store one shops at in Canada....
