Anything to add? I was surprised that I came away from the book feeling hopeful. Some of the subject matter was quite hard for me to digest. However, at the end, with that single smile, I felt that Amir and his nephew could have happy lives. Certainly not a feel good novel but I was glad it didn't end bleak and dreary.

I joined too late and won't have time to read this book this month but I will put it on my priority list for February!
