Mary JL (maryjl) | 181 comments I have previously read two of McDevitt's stand-alone novels--Eternity Road andAncient Shores and really enjoyed his work.

Now I have found a copuple of books in his Alex Benedict series. Can anyone tell me if these will stand alone or must they be read in order?

Thank you for any infor you can provide!

Deedee | 73 comments Hi - the Alex Benedict series is stand-alone. There is an occasional one-sentence reference to a previous book in the series, but it is a throw-away sentence, not integral to the plot.

Bill (kernos) | 426 comments I agree the Alex Benedict books are standalone. Bu, I think over the series both Alex and and esp, Chase have grown. Chase has really come into her own over the years.
